I don't know why people (specifically those who did not sit in exam hall to solve this type of paper) feel that there is 100% strike rate in easy questions. Those who appeared , know it very well that some silly mistakes are bound to happen.  What else we can do ? Pressure is going to play its role.

Yes true I got glacier wala wrong despite reading it in ncert just the other day, I got HC review its own decision wrong even when my mind kept saying ki court of record hai toh review to kar skte. I filled bubbles incorrectly in 2 qsns. Tough paper makes you commit these kind of silly mistakes.

This exam is way too arbitrary to be a mainstay of my life now.

2nd attempt. Getting around 96, may or may not qualify. CSAT check karne ki himmat ni hai. Jo bhi ho, I’m kinda done with all this.

Those who qualify, give it your all in mains - not just with the objective make it to the final list, but maybe more to avoid having to sit another prelims of this kind.

What are you planning post this?

I'm in similar boat as you

I have no clue right now. And to add to that, being from a non tech background, it’s not like I have many (or any) fallback options either :/

Quite a pickle. ☹️

Many people are writing their story and I can only try to understand their pain. People writing their daily routines and following it religiously, yet not making it really makes me uncomfortable.

I dont know what to write. This was my 2nd attempt. Got 91.84 in 2020, again hovering on borderline this time. Inner feeling not so good about making it into the list.

For those claiming paper to be easy, I also felt the same during exam. But, answer keys had other ideas. :p
Yes, There were easy questions but in real exam environment, it is very difficult to mark all those correct. In my first round, I had marked 51 questions. Was confident of getting 45+ correct. But, it was not to be. All those 2nd round "logical intelligent guessing" of 50-50 gave a net ZERO.

I have decided to accept the result with humbleness and with a smile. Will again try to restart coding career.

Can only remember Steve Job's line - "The journey is the reward"

Good luck to all. Hope you all get success :)

Where are your CSAT passage keys this year?

Looking forward to them. I want to torture myself today.

My friends here we are:

Small confusion: Was the quit India resolution actually passed by the AICC? Wasn't the Congress leadership arrested prior to that?

Secondly: has anyone gotten hold of csat answer key? I failed csat last year... So atleast answer key for quant portions, please help

Thanks

In CSAT if you feel you are on borderline,  then please don't check CSAT keys. It will further destroy peace of mind.  Wait for 15-20 days , result will be out by then.

I am sorry if it's inappropriate to ask at this point(and you can very well ignore this question) but how much were you getting by coaching keys last year?

resolution was passed on 8th august in bombay, it was adopted in july 42 in wardha, the mass arrests happened from 9th august that is why that day is celebrated as august kranti diwas.

PS: and TBH your query gave me a feeling " ek aur gaya" so i rechecked and found this, though the intention to mark this right was different from what the facts are :P

we live in strange world. We are roaming here and there for 2021 keys while official key of 2020 is still pending.  After a year who would remember what he/she has marked!!

I know this rage is temporary and it’s an every year affair. Every year tens of thousands will feel disrespected because of this exam and the sheer unfairness of it and they will have no option but to move on. However, anyone who calls this paper easy or suggests that basics or “logic” could help you clear it, please come meet me - I just wanna talk.

All this speculation about UPSC wanting to end coachings is BS, just that. If they wanted to do so, they’d stick to books- normal traditional books that everyone whether from rural area or a metropolitan can purchase and read. They won’t be making a shit fest of this sort year after year. Sure 35-40 questions can be solved from basic sources. Assuming you make absolutely no mistake in these questions, you still have to get 10-15 questions right along with negative marking. And every year there are going to be thousands who fall on the wrong side of this gamble. I am one of them this year. I lost so many questions even in questions where I had eliminated 2 options. If it’s a game of probability then it needs special kind of badluck to have so many wrong hits. And yet I know that I am not alone. I know many people are facing exactly what I am with probably much more at stake than me.

At the end of the day, we chose this for ourselves. But we also were told that there are going to be atleast some rules, some order to this chaos.@LetsGetThisBread ‘s daily targets literally kept me going on my worst days and I think it’s more than just unfair if they don’t end up with the desired result. Anyone who tries to preach about the pattern and approach of the exam at this point- please just don’t. Just stop. Let us grieve in peace ffs.

Everyone else who feels lost and hopeless, there are no right combination of words that will make you feel any better. I have attached so much importance to this exam that I don’t even feel it when people tell me I am more than this exam. But a line from Kota Factory goes - “War mein haarne wale warriors hote hain, losers nahi” You all are warriors. Please take care.

You have me! There were many questions where I eliminated two options but I landed on the wrong side :/

In the questions, I didn’t attempt, mere sab hunches sahi hain apparently :/

I am also one of them! I didn't attempt sochke ki galat na hojaye aur, parrrr sahi nikale.

If I would have played the gamble with some more thinking and analysis, I would have scored above 100. Its a gamble lady, and I have lost !

Hindsight is always 20/20.

The game is to take that gamble when you are into it.

exactly. For a spectator it is easy to take wild guess. Someone who appears in exam know it that on a bad day, one wild guess and game is over

Yes.

Even my younger brother who is not a graduate yet, guided me with atleast 5-6 questions this morning with so ease.

I was just feeling so amused at his innocence.

And.

State PCS requires a lot of rote memorisation so I have never been interested in that. Aur upar se, I want to join the IFS so state PCS makes no sense and doesn’t excite me at all. But abhi it’s like I might have to take up something unwillingly 🤷🏻‍♀️

Last year, I think from both insights and forum keys, I was getting 98 or 100.
2.67 more if you count preamble waala answer of Shubhra Mam.

Oh man, no. Bank jobs are the worst.

(Please no offence to anyone working in banks, I’m just an unemployed person on the Internet and you’re definitely doing better at life than me.)

yesterday in public transport a co passenger took paper from me, glanced through it, and his review was : it was so easy paper. Any serious student(I still don't understand who is serious and who  is not ) would have attempted it in 90 minutes.

In my mind I was thinking: why am I so dumb and slow ?
