Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.
@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?
This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.
@skandaguptait is a lottery indeed. People who have prepared properly for an year or two should get back to a job and prepare alongside. This is nomore a paper of test of knowledge but luck. I left for the US after 4 failed attempts 2 yrs back and resumed preparation once I got established professionally.i thought 2018’s was the toughest but this ppr just exceeded that level too. Would be appearing for one last time next yr but with no expectations and no pressures of sitting at home unemployed fortunately.
Bro just wanna ask. You returned from US to prepare for this exam particulary or because of any other reason? I am asking this because I am myself considering migrating to Canada through their PR process, actually I have been thinking about this for many years now but this upsc thing is holding me back. Actually I have always been in two minds and chose upsc over Canada but this betrayal by upsc every time makes me want to reconsider my decision. I quit my job for this and regret now as you also said it it is not a test of knowledge anymore and after 25 odd questions (which you can find it standard books) rest is a game of wild guesses in which some will succeed and some will not which is obvious. So there is no need to beat yourself up over this.
If you really are a fan of Tyler upsc is not the one for you you dude, go for Canada. Job quality is not as good as you think and you probably won't be serving your country despite your best intentions.
I think, if preliminary exam remains like this, will do more harm than good. Even working hard or keeping your eyes and ear open won't help. One or two questions here or there and you are out for one year of your productive life.
In 2015, CSAT was removed as temporary measure due to protest of some people, some committee formed to review preliminary exam process but no results (status quo since then).
It's time we should legally fight and send a representation that this paper doesn't test anything but luck in exam after a due preparation. We can suggest reform in our representation.
Please can any tell me how is government trading option in the rice price question correct?? Mostly the private sector is into exporting... government only facilitates.... isn't it??
Someone please reply
Word of advice:
1. Don't check your Paper 2 from coaching answer key.
Last both times almost every paper 2 answer key showed I'm failing, but I did not. ( I depend more on comprehension, math ain't my cup of tea)
2. Just check your Paper 1. See the marks. Anything above 90...start preparing for Mains. (Because seen lots of discussion on this forum in last two years that cut is going 102-108 etc... Never happened.)
So, all those getting 100+ marks... Don't show off on this forum. Start preparing.
@KratosOfPUBG Indeed .. Hard working people dont take risk. All hard working are below 100 or say 105 .. Lower limit 90.All tukka baaj ... D maar ke aaye .. 85 to 95 attempt kar ke ... and see.. 110 or 115. !!Wilderness in Hell.
I was tukkabaj in my previous attempt. Got 140+. Worked hard this time. All the basics revised 4 times. Current 4 times. Vajiram and vision test series done and revised twice and still getting 105. Only a few questions from what i studied. UPSC clearly has no interest in selecting hard working people.
Reforms such as
1. To improve the exam for Hindi candidate by not using Google translate.
2. Count CSAT marks but not in same proportion. Maybe only (50%)
3. Or introduce a separate GS paper for Agriculture and environment doing away with CSAT paper (total GS 400 marks).... Will give long range and hence randomness will decrease.
Or something else you can suggest
