how is public administration as an optional performing?

So I have someone who wants to switch from maths to pub ad.

I am not aware of how pub ad is doing, what is the average score. Are there any folks with pub ad mains and interview experience who can throw some light into it?

It has seen a resurgence in scores. Have seen people getting in 270-280.
But again average trend remains around 230-260 owing to current pattern of marking in optionals.

Pub Ad has high overlap on GS 2&3 ,especially for paper 2.Rank 11 of 2025 & Rank 12 of 2024 (Ashi sharma) had pub ad optional.Highest score ranges between 280-290 sir.

Last year i wrote my first mains in first attempt i have done pub ad optional from ansari sir, i got 259 in public administration (p-1: 135 , p-2 : 124 )
My view on pub ad optional is- since, last year there seems to be reviewal of pub ad optional where it has performed well with many people getting marks in  250-290 range. However in my opinion there is paradigm shift that is going on in pub ad optional. The questions that are now being asked is more conceptual, it demand more conceptual clarity then factual knowledge or just mugging up the theory and thinkers in paper-1. On contrast, paper-2 has seen varying pattern last year it was more of conceptual, this year it has become more like gs-2. 

So, overall if one had good conceptual clarity then one can do better in pub ad optional.
