The Union Public Service Commission had released the notification for Civil Services Examination 2015.

- Civil Services Preliminary will have two papers – CSAT ( Paper II ) will be qualifying in nature. You will have to score a minimum of 33% marks to qualify.
- Cut off for Prelims will only be based on GS Marks.
- Number of vacancies is 1129
- Additional Attempt to those who attempted UPSC in 2011, but are now not eligible due to age limit.
- Age limit for GEN: 32 years, OBC: 32+3 Years, SC/ST: 32+5 Years
- Each Paper will be of 200 Marks each
Syllabus for Prelims Paper I & Paper II
Part-A Preliminary Examination
- Current events of national and international importance.
- History of India and Indian National Movement.
- Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic
- Geography of India and the World.
- Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
- Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion,
- Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
- General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization
- General Science.
Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours
- Comprehension
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision-making and problem-solving
- General mental ability
- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magni-
tude, etc.) (Class X level), - Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. Class X level)
