There are 1200 students in a school, and a third of them are boys. Study the following pie charts about the distribution of girls alone and students overall of a school in six different courses (A, B, C, D, E and F), and answer the questions that follow:

Explanations
1. April showed a change of 9 percentage points over the previous month.

2. Percentage change in March = (11 – 13)/13 * 100 = -15%
Percentage change in April = (20 – 11)/13 * 100 = 82%
Percentage change in June = (13 – 12)/13 * 100 = 8%
Percentage change in July = (20 – 13)/13 * 100 = 54%
April shows the greatest percentage change as well.

3. Percentage change in March = (11 – 13)/13 * 100 = -15%
Percentage change in April = (20 – 11)/13 * 100 = 82%
Percentage change in May = (12 – 20)/13 * 100 = -62%
Percentage change in June = (13 – 12)/13 * 100 = 8%
June shows the smallest percentage change over the previous month.

4. The rate at the beginning (January) = 13%. The rate at the end (July) = 20%. Net rise = 7%. Percentage rise = (7/13)*100 = 54%.

5. Average rate = (13 + 13 + 11 + 20 + 12 + 13 + 20)/7 = 14.5%
