The past week has been excruciating for most of you because the UPSC Mains Results have been delayed by almost a month now with no impasse.
At the same time, ForumIAS servers went haywire under the load of thousands of aspirants trying to login to discuss about any insider info or just to chit chat.
We did so badly under the load that it reminded us of the No Donuts for you days 😛
Anyway, its 2:48 AM, and we are back with a 4 X more powerful, speedier and um, bigger server. We now have
- 32 Core bare metal server with,
- 1 GBps dedicated Link ,
- 64 GB of RAM.
- A brand new solid state drive
The 32 Core bare metal server will ensure that we can now take 4x more number of concurrent users, and hopefully should be able to support some of the overenthusiastic threads with commenting @ 1 comment every 10 seconds.
1 GBps Dedicated link, from a 100 Mbps link earlier means we will be able to handle larger data volume at one go.
Our Solid State drive, complemented by the 1 TB Hard Disk Drive will ensure both higher I/O operations as well as quick recovery. A solid state drive is much faster than a hard drive with moving parts and less prone to failure.
