The union Public Service Commission has officially released the notification for 2024 for 1056 posts .
The application form starts from today i.e. 14th February , 2024 , and the last date for application is 5th March , 2024 .
Key Highlights of U.P.S.C CSE ( IAS ) 2024 notification :
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality : For IAS, IFS and IPS - Citizen of India. For other posts, a candidate must be either an Indian citizen, subject of Nepal, subject of Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. A certificate of eligibility must be issued by the Government of India.
- Age limits: Attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2024.
- Upper age limit relaxations: OBC - 3 years, SC/ST - 5 years, PWBD - 10 years
- Number of attempts: General – 6, OBC – 9, SC/ST – unlimited, PWBD – 9
- Education qualifications: A graduate degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.
Key Dates to Remember:
- Application form opening day :February 14, 2024.
- Last day of application submission :March 5, 2024, 6 PM.
- Modification in application form :March 6 – March 12, 2024.
- Preliminary examination: May 26, 2024
No, I have submitted photo without name and date mentioned, and I have filled the form on 14th Feb , but i have to correct the photo on 6th March,, so I am confused what date should I mention on photo, before 14th Feb or before 6th March.
U can put 10th or 11th February ( before 14th feb ), because u have already submitted ur application form ,only thing is that u r editing ur photo na .
Those who wear specs had to upload the photograph wearing them?
Also My CGPA is 7.47 and if I round it off to 75, is that okay?
My obc caste certificate hasn't been updated yet and it will take time.so if I fill form with general category will I be allowed to modify it later?
Hi ,
If the category indicated by a candidate in the application form for any Examination of the Commission is Unreserved/General category but the candidate subsequently writes to the Commission to change the category to a reserved one i.e. OBC, such request is not entertained by the Commission.

In my caste certificate there is mistake in my father name of one letter 'h' , rest in all documents all name spellings are similar .will it create issues in future? Please help sir .

@DM @Neyawn sir, in my application, i have mistakenly filled SDM as the issuing authority of my EWS certificate, but my certificate was actually issued by a SDO. A friend of mine in the service, said both SDM and SDO are same in Bihar( i am from Bihar), and he himself chose SDM as the issuing authority even though even his certificate was issued by SDO, and the drop down menu in the UPSC application form had SDO as an option as well.Will i be allowed to change the issuing authority in the correction window? and if yes, should i change it, or should i leave it as is?
