@nimbus2000abc Hmmmm even I thought so. But only post-mortem analysis. Even none of the answer keys picked it up. Revise static as much as possible I guess. Currents ka toh waise bhi nahi pata kaunsi source se uthayenge

magnetite particles, N. Gopalaswamy, Right to city and High court review judgement....... were answered wrongly in vision ias key ......it means we have to score 105+ for sure selection in pre.....if we score around 90 then it might end up our score either 100+ or less than 80...

I think it's very obvious thing that their source for current affairs must be primary source like websites of Organizations and particularly about us section of that organizations site or primary press release or PIB statements for government schemes. I can't even imagine that they will ever frame question looking at PT365.

Hello friends , How many questions you attempted as the cut off is getting lower ???
11.3k views
@appyfizz just look at the last column of their answer key they tried to claim every possible question i think in that too 80% is indirect thing like we asked something similar to this in test series so you must have been able to solve and blah blah. The thing here is if they are claiming questions from their sources so must get right answers for them like 5-6 wrong answers are okay that some interpretation differences between us and Upsc but not these many wrongs. The conclusion of they are getting wrong themselves is we are confidently marking them wrong as based on their answer key in their mock test.

Do you guys feel era for average accuracy and high attempt is over?
12.5k views
@Mandalorian30 Ummm I don't think so. What has definitely changed is the depth of questions. Anyone with high-attempt and avg-accuracy strategy can still achieve good score provided your static/concepts are top-knotch, and the "out-of-the-blue" questions don't rattle you in the paper. In my experience, what has changed is the mindset in the paper. It has become 50% mindgame, 50% knowledge compared to earlier years of 80% knowledge (more or less). I think UPSC has done this because today there is no dearth of information/knowledge due to internet. Every serious aspirant will know a simple fact (mostly). To separate the wheat from the chaff UPSC now goes 2-3 steps ahead and asks the "application" of that fact. Right or wrong I am no one to comment. But you should be confident in your strategy, don't try to copy someone blindly who says "maine sirf 70 kiye, 5 galat". I always do 90-95, no matter if paper is tough or not. And for me this has worked every single time. And when I did not do it, because I fell victim to the previous 70-limit gyaan, I flunked prelims.
So, gist is-strategy for you should be your own, and stick to it. You will be more confident with it. When going to fight a war, it is always better to be comfortable with all other aspects of your ammunition (read strategy here), because UPSC will be , and has always been, highly unpredictable, trying to rattle you and make you uncomfortable. Don't add more discomfort to yourself by changing strategy, specially at this last moment! Good luck!!

@Mandalorian30 to an extent yes. 2 of my friends faced this. One of them attempted 92 and couldnt qualify. The other one attempted around 80-82 and scored 107.
I guess good/very good accuracy in static parts like eonomics, polity, Modern history will be the key to qualify. Attempting too many questions jst for the sake of it makes no sense

Maybe we can settle for the fact that focus on high accuracy first followed by maximizing attempts. With the vagueness increasing in the Questions blatantly attempting 90+ has amounted for overkill for people around me at least. and In recent years ive seen people clear on this basis only, with just a fair amount of basic knowledge. Depth surely has increased but so has the randomness. Precise accurate application of a concept still is a safe game than attempting vague questions risking negative. Like yours truly last year(face palm) on an advice "90 + to karna hi"

@Mandalorian30 Yes, agreed. "Blatant" is hardly a rewarding strategy. Since last year you suffered, it would be better for you to calmly analyse your mistakes. The yardstick generally speaking is,the static/basic/easy ones must never be wrong, never ever, they should not be even left unattempted because "yaad nahi aa raha revise nai kiya".I am sure you would agree, our mindset is affected more negatively when we can't do justice to easy ones because of lack of revision. That's why revising and sticking to PYQ is the soul of this prelims paper. New content, specially in end days, is like forbidden fruit, tempting us to taste it. We all know what happens when we taste it. Pray that temptations don't take the better of us, and revise PYQ/static. Good luck!
