My questions:

1. Why did they drop Devi lal question?

3. High Court cannot review judgement like SC. What's the word play here?

4. Right to City bamboozled.

Do you guys feel era for average accuracy and high attempt is over?

UPSC is always about average accuracy(about 70%) and good number of attempts(About 90-95%). If you have put in effort for more than a year.. you will be able to achieve this number.

CSE 2021 Prelims mismatch.docx

Hi All,

There were 6 mismatches in the answer provided by ForumIAS for UPSC CSE Prelims 2021 compared to the official answer key provided by the UPSC.

In Q.2the 1st statement says that "All casual workers are entitled for Employees Provident Fund Coverage" which was marked correct by us based on the ruling of the Supreme court of India which ruled that casual workers are also entitled to social security benefits under the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act.

But it has been considered an incorrect statement by UPSC.

Q.25was regarding magnetite particles are generated as environmental pollutants through which of the following.

As per UPSC official answer key Microwave stoves within homes and Telephone lines doesnot generate magnetite particles.

We considered them as correct options based on various sources.

In Q.42the 2nd statement says that "The Government of India Act of 1935 gave women reserved seats in legislature.  "

We marked it as an incorrect statement as it gave a separate electorate but doesnot talk about the reservation of seats.

But UPSC has considered it a correct statement. This was an interpretational mistake from our side.

In Q.48the 1st statement says that "The Nizamat of Arcot emerged out of Hyderabad State. "

We marked it as a correct statement as the Nizamat of Carnatic (Arcot) was a dependency of Hyderabad Deccan and was under the legal purview of the Nizam of Hyderabad.

But UPSC has considered it an incorrect statement, maybe because it was a protectorate state but did not emerge out of Hyderabad.

Q.80has been dropped by UPSC

In Q.81the 1st statement says that ''Right to the city'' is an agreed human right and the UN-Habitat monitors the Commitments made by each country in this regard.

This was marked as correct as different sources also talks the same.

But UPSC has considered this an incorrect statement.

In Q.88the 2nd statement says "A High Court in India has the power to review its own judgment as the Supreme Court does. "

We marked it as correct as High Courts also act as court of record so they have the power to review their own judgment.

But UPSC has considered this an incorrect statement. I think we missed the part as the Supreme Court does in the statement, so it has been considered incorrect.

@PrelimsTeam 6 questions means a gap of 13.34 marks for someone who attempted all of these. Ahh, such sadism by UPSC.

@jassikamboj16303 Correction. It is 16 marks. Much more painful.

Q2 solution was always going to be incorrect, since there is wage limit of 15000 for EPF. Didn't see this mentioned in any answerkey.
