Since there seem to be a few people who are interested in such topics I thought we could just create a thread to discuss such things. We can properly go into all of this. After Prelims, of course. Also if anyone has ideas of pre-made decks to make for ANKI post it down below and i'll try to add it to the list.
ANKI PRE-MADE DECK LIST
Historical Organizations and their leaders
Journals/Newspapers and their authors
Ramsar Sites
National Parks
Tiger Reserves
Reports (and their corresponding publishers)
Festivals/Sports/Art etc. and their corresponding state
I made such lofty promises pre Prelims but I have done 0 work. Still do not know how to use notion. Any beginner's guide?
I'm sharing my notes here since some of you have already asked via PM.

Notion is really versatile (perhaps the most versatile productivity app). Hence learning it can be challenging. To simplify the process, I only focussed on creating the most basic notes in terms of features. My aim was to consolidate various notes into one place so I can revise from there at the last moment instead of referring to multiple sources. I only used the toggle feature, and separated/categorized notes into various papers =>subjects =>topics =>subtopics. Plus as an added bonus, it looked clean and well-organised
Just go through them. You'll get a basic idea.
If you make an account on Notion (it's free), you can copy paste these notes and add content, delete, modify etc.
Also most things are self explanatory. It's intuitive to use. There are instructions for every step.
Have a great start to the journey!

It serves the purpose for collating information, but recall or retrieval is not made easy with Notion. We get that pseudo satisfaction that everything is organised and structured. But keep in mind, that it's structured in Notion and not in our Brain.
For those interested, watch this video by Ali Abdaal.
He details how to use Notion effectively (for note-making as well as memorizing). From him, I learned the use of the toggle feature as a tool for active recall.
Just type - " What works and What doesn't by Professor Dunlosky" in Google and read the first link (pdf of 6 pages)
@SergioRamos Are you getting back to prep for 2021 now? if yes and still intending to work with this app.. then lets get to work..
Should I switch to Notion now.. ?? Is there time to get accustomed to this process and will it be more helpful? Recovering from Mains failure.. Maybe new methods of learning may make the process more interesting. But need help and collaboration..
Before you make that switch, DO know that no software or app could be life changing :P just like there are no life changing haircuts (yes, I’m looking at you TLC).
Try it out only if you’re looking for a filing system for mains notes currently, and are used to ‘online’ interface. I used OneNote, made a jump into Notion because I figured it would help me revise notes once and make them less bulky. For someone who is already committed pen and paper notes, or another app, it might be too much work. It’s great software, but it’s just a notetaking app like any other - the hardwork is going through them a gazillion times so they register in our brains.

Getting back to prep, but seeing so much work before me I cannot seem to take out a few extra days to get accustomed to the new way. Sorry man, but I will be sticking to pen and paper.

Yeah man.. just 3 months left..
There's a lot of discussion going on in the other thread on using ANKI. Being an avid user of ANKI and a firm believer in the philosophy of Active recall and Space Repetition, ANKI doesn't work well for UPSC, may be for Prelims a bit but the best bet would on Super Memo 18.
Just explore it guys, it will be the best thing you might have come across in your learning journey
