Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.
This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.
No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

Good morning wise folks of forum!16.6.21World history- till End of Cold WarPSIR- UN system+ notesDaily C/ACSAT- got reminded yesterday how much I suck at itEditorial- IE and HinduWriting with my right handAs always, “let’s get this bread”
I honestly don’t know where my day went. Did not watch any youtube, or Netflix, but still went really really slow. I managed to get my C/A, CSAT and editorials complete, but I only managed most of the PSIR target, so I did additional AWP to compensate.
I get a massive streak of desperation which makes me do some random things towards the end of the day, so that it doesn’t feel like a waste and fuel my sleeplessness.
Not much bread was got, in fact only paav of the bread was got (I’m not ashamed of that pun)
To do list for 16 June 2021 :
- Solve PYQ under Geometric optics
- Read GS sectional test synopsis
- Read one section of India and Contemporary world.
Hoping to complete what I have listed.
- PYQ - 50% still remaining , need to complete tomorrow.
- Watched 1.5 hours video and jotted down how better I could have structured answers
- NCERT - could do only 30 %

I had such a strong start to the day. Thought I'll crush everything. Then the afternoon laziness struck. Ended up binging a few episodes of 'The Tick'. Don't even know why I decided to start watching this show.
Finally I tried to study in the evening. Got through some portions. At that moment a cousin showed up. Spent the remaining time catching up with him.
After he went to bed, thought I'd watch my class. At that instant, my laptop decided to stop working. Now I'll have to take it for repairs. Hope my files are safe.
Anyways... I hope tomorrow is a more peaceful day. My targets will be completing what's pending from today. Have a great day y'all!
Went quite off track in past two days. I was living without pretty much everything except telegram to keep distractions at bay. Mood swings got me to install bumble and activated my insta account. Completely lost sense of preparation mood tab. Back in the business now. :)
A friend called up to remind my target of attempting mains 2020 paper as simulation in feb. Massive guilt trip. Starting with ethics vision test, I'm hopeful of writing that in July mid. Let's see.
I started studying after 4 pm instead of morning. Still, was able to take out 5.5 hours post that. Starting with thermo today, almost 1/3rd of the portion got covered. Now that I'm finally in sync, I hope tomorrow would be a productive day too. It's always sweet if your day is bittersweet and sweet is how you end.
Someone over this thread mentioned how one shouldn't take the complete day as a whole but in different sessions. If you didn't do well in morning and afternoon sessions, don't wait for another day. You still have half of the day left. Thanks to whoever mentioned this.
I hope I'm able to internalise enough hawabazi in ethics to write the answers. :)
Subconsciously, I've always thought of lunch to be the middle of the day. It was such a stunning discovery to realise today (in the shower - where else :P) that the middle of my day (based on when I wake up and sleep) was somewhere between 4-5 pm.
This has entirely changed my perspective. Even if I have an afternoon slump, I can remind myself that I have more than half a day remaining to do something. Hope that now I can have more inspired evening and night sessions.
Things done:
- PDE PYQ (90%)
- Ethics Answer Writing
- Newspaper
Targets for today
- Finish PDE PYQ
- Revise Modern Algebra Theory
- Ethics Answer Writing
- Try to find time to start Society VAM
Netflix binging has reduced but the books still look at me from afar with disdain. Let us see how today goes!
Things done:
- PDE PYQ Completed
- Modern Algebra Theory (20%)
- Ethics Answer Writing
Targets for today:
- Modern Algebra Theory (try to finish it)
- Ethics Answer Writing
- Read Society VAM (1/3)
You're happy with your efforts in the day and are looking to finish your targets, then comes a math question that takes 2.5 hours of your time. Rhythm did break and the second half didn't go well. Today will be better.
Posting away a line from something I wrote: "Choose now to be weak & won, or to be none?"
Contrary to my wishes, today turned out to be a very unproductive day. Since my sleep cycle isn't really in sync, the body forced me to sleep in the morning itself. Although the second half still ensured that the day didn't go entirely to waste.
Things done:
- Modern Algebra Theory (40% complete)
- Ethics Answer Writing
Targets:
- Modern Algebra Theory (Try to finish half of ring theory)
- Modern Algebra PYQs
- Ethics Answer Writing
The good: Finally getting back in touch with writing decent answers.
The bad: My nemesis Modern Algebra is still as bad in my third reading as it was in my first! Going to delay Society VAM until I get a hold on it.
Good morning you lovely fellow human beings!
Targets for 17.6.21:
World history- complete+ tying up loose ends (i.e Googling things etc etc)
C/A revision- September (3 sections)
Daily C/A
Editorials- IE+ Hindu
CSAT
I’m taking a day’s break from setting PSIR targets because i desperately need it. Hopefully the distance makes the heart grow fonder. As per usual, standard motivation for the day applies, “let’s get this bread”.
