I saw people venting out their thoughts, fears, pain, happiness on this platform. Gathered enough courage today to write something I often feel. I called it courage because I'm a person who don't express anything to anyone.

It's been 2 years .....I came back home from Delhi due to lockdown. I was comfortable with studying in the library. 2 months after coming back, I lost my both  grandparents. In the next one month, I had prelims.....my mother tested Covid positive 3 days before prelims......I hardly read anything for 3 months before prelims. I failed miserably in prelims. Moreover I was mentally n physically exhausted. It took almost 6 months for our family to recover n get back to normal.

What I didn't notice is I was not normal. As I started to study after many months, I couldn't concentrate. There were days where I struggled to read even a single page. But when someone disturbs me I became furious. I used to cry badly.

Every day in the morning I have to help my mother in packing lunch for my parents n sibling. When I sit back to study there comes a knock everyday....milk man.......then another knock between 11-1pm  comes maid whenever she wanted to. I also involve in household work in the evening, as my parents would get tired after coming from work. So I tried to study at night but it badly affected my health. Adding to this people come home frequently. They don't leave without asking me. Some even said that I  was giving lame excuses. Some said that sending children to Civils coaching has  become a social status... literally on my face.

In the beginning I thought it was ok, I can adjust to this routine. But over 2 years just sitting at home with no other activity, negativity started creeping in....... cognitive distortions.......crying for everything.......unable to concentrate......always feel low on energy....feel worthless .....are these really excuses?.....Can change in environment help me come out of this brain fog?

Please do change places. It certainly helps. In my case, once laziness got associated with my living room at home,I really was engulfed by it. Ever since I have  shifted back to Delhi again and joined a library, things have considerably improved. Also, try taking that first step.Half of the decisional inertia is gone with that first step.

Take care!Best-est of luck!

Oh nice! I know a few of my batchmates who completed law from there. It’s a really good place

Arrey! What are you really pursuing now? I guess you are in the same University then!

Also, wanted to enquire on PSIR stuff- Have you joined some TS yet?Like I want to join, but I won't do SRIAS,for the quality of assessment they do(I did join after my first Prelims and they were horrible). I am contemplating to go for Piyush Sir(even though he is very sust types but can offer better feedback due to lesser rush in his institution).Btaio on this if possible!

@Neyawn prelims has to be prepared from January, leaving everything aside

But is it not a good idea to write SFGs on weekdays and mains test on weekends as many things are overlapping in GS?

And consider if one is scoring good in sfg tests cant he/she ‘balance’ mains with prelims in jan and half feb atleast?

Today's progress-

Tomorrow's Targets-

It is amusing to learn that some good content is churned beyond popular names in PSIR coaching industry. Rajesh Mishra has been a saviour more than once. Helped with some additions in Chapter 3 of P2A+ also his content is better on Dharmashastras and Buddhist PT.

@Pepethefrog Go Cold Turkey bhai!

Indeed life is tough.
But aren't we all learning and re-learning in this process?
If it wasn't tough it would have been so boring isn't it?
Nothing is a defeat unless you let your mind take it as a defeat and mentally accept it as a defeat.

For me, forum is family.. That's why I am still lingering around here..
I hope you also find your reason to loiter around once in a while :)
It is always amazing to see familiar faces (read usernames) here ..
Much love

Was scoring pathetic in MGP, I think I thought too much about the marks before writing the test and so, didn't write it seriously. But this time, I thought let's just give the test seriously, open book diya, pondered over every question, took me 2 days to finish the test BUT marks and quality of answers improved:) Toh this one's for those who are beating themselves up because of low scores in MGP, don't fret over the scores in the beginning, focus on understanding the demand of the question, develop your content, phir value addition. Yeh sab ek raat, ya ek hafte, ya ek mahine ki baat nahi hai, time dena padega doston. So, hang in there, and keep at it. Coming to prep scenes, mid July - mid Aug occupied due to sem exams. But I'm not going to stress over it, i know i can compensate for it plus grad school halke mein nahi le sakte. Was feeling super lazy abhi tak but got my evaluated MGP copy aaj, good day :) Sem exams phodke back to the grind.
