Anthro people, how do u practice optional answer writing? Via PYQs or have you joined some test series or any other way? 🧐
Kindly shed some light.

The steps are: notes, Topic revision, looking at PYQ, try to recall points, repeat.

 Revise- Recall-Repeat

A good day guys.

1- Partially done.

2- Speed of round 40-45 pages

@Lawstice Ullu bnaate hai. From what I can see as a plausible strategy, one should do a good number of mocks but as the exam nears should shift more towards PYQs.

Also,PSIR peeps- Happened to read an article by pop ideologue Slavoj Zizek today after months, but the best one was this-

modis-multipolar-moment-has-arrived.html

Shubh Ratri doston!

i bought the sublime object of ideology few days back. Tough read, lekin khud ko dilasa dete rehta hu ki haan aarha hai samajh.

Didn’t write answers. All other targets achieved. Satisfied with today’s progress.

2 Text and context sections on Local government and Seasons & Economy caught my eye. Ispe pura ka pura thesis likh sakta hu. Kyon ki maine inhe bahut paas se observe kiya hai.

The crux is:

  1. The concerns that Ambedkar had about local democracy, were right. The traditional zamindars still dominate the local politics.
  2. Indian people always had idea of seasons, festivals and harvest in their minds. Still many Rural MSMEs and other activities function according to that cycle. Banks and Economists should also formulate their policies based on seasons rather than the Gregorian calendar, where there was only the concept of winters, when military could not move.

Interesting fact, Gregorian calendar had originally 10 months. Later July and August were added in the name of Julius and Augustus. 31 days in both the months were also kept to honour them.

Hi peeps,

A question to those who have cleared prelims before. What's the optimum number of mocks to give?

Currently for me it's SFG phase 2 (around 40+ half length sectionals) + atleast 5-6 FLTs. If I reach this figure, I'm fully confident.

But optimum number changes. There has been an attempt where I gave 100+ tests. There was also an attempt where I gave just 4-5 tests and instead relied on PYQs. Both worked out well.

If your MCQ solving skills are weak, or you're bored to revise again and again, rely on more mocks/mcqs. Else priority should be revision and PYQs.

Being able to a complete answer is never an issue for people who have been studying since 2-3 years, what matters is whether that completed answer has quality or not.

Try to frame questions from your notes and  answer them? Refer pyqs for reference?

First step towards reproducing your content in tests is to reproduce them in practice answers. If you still aren't able to reproduce content from your notes while writing answers in tests, it's better to refer notes during the test. Mains has good enough 11 months of time, 3hrs/1 and half hours mai likhne ka load mat lo abh.

Also try to analyse where else you can use that content? Can you use same content in geo, envi, history, econ etc? Try to analyse in which parts of the answer you can use thatsamecontent. This certainly helps to internalise things.

Thanks@iphoole . Haha yes They're short. Will work that way, interlinking seems a nice idea.

Yes@DancingMaster quality is the issue! Not concerned about the marks evaluators award but my own satisfaction is important. Will try dancing the ways you've suggested. Thanks :)

Also, what do you guys think of free flow of thoughts & not just restricting to the notes or coaching materials? Like sticking to the context asked but in own way?

Shubh Prabhat doston!

Hi doston! Again short on completing Target 1. Geography is uninvited guest for me vis a vis syllabus of UPSC

@DancingMaster I don't follow him much par I know him from famous Peterson- Zizek debate. Also, I can recall the comment made by one of SRCC Professor- Most of the contemporary Marxism is what Zizek espouses.

@Pepethefrog Why so dukhi, dost! Sab sahi hoga pidde.

Shubh Ratri doston!
