UPSC requires a lot of fact crunching and rote memorization. To aid in this situation we many-a-times create some tricks or phrases which is formally known as Mnemonics.
Let's us share our Mnemonics from the various subjects for the benefit of all and learn from others as well in this process.

To remember the difference between Isotope, Isotone and Isobar.
Consider Proton as P, Neutron As N.
Now, if in the word letter"P" is present Proton would be sameand if letter"N" is present then Neutron would be same.Other things will automatically become different.
For example:
IsotoPe -same no. of Protonsand different no. of Neutrons
IsotoNe - same no. of Neutronsand different no. of Protons
Isobar - different no. of Protons and different no. of Neutrons
(Note: for Isobar the sum of proton and neutron is same)
To avoid confusion between the definition ofStunting, Wasting, and Underweightuse the following method.
Let Height=t,
Age =g,
Weight =w.
Now, Start from thebeginningof the word andlook forthevariable(t,g,w)whichever you encounterfirst will be low as compared to the next different encountered variableand once you havefound twovariablesdon't move aheadin the word. Thus it will form the definition.
Example:
Stunting- t occurs first and then g solow height for age
Wasting - w occurs first and then t solow weight for height
Underweight - w occurs first and then g solow weight for age
