Guys, is the DAF 1 for mains out? It was supposed to be out by now right. I feel anxious that it is out and I am unaware of it.
Sorry to post again but would anyone be having any direction with regard to this? Would be immensely grateful...
Are you asking from the perspective of interview whether it would be advisable or not to mention about the foreign degree?
Or do you want to skip mentioning about the foreign degree and are wondering if it's procedurally okay to not mention it in the DAF?
I don't know if it's mandatory to declare foreign degrees, because they do ask separately about it in the DAF.
I don't think it would be a problem if you skip it but I'm not a 100% sure. Others may guide you better.
Thank you for the reply. Yes, wanted to know about the procedural aspect of it. I believe it should be ok not to mention too...since it is not part of qualification....
I agree.
The DAF directly asks if we have basic or higher education from a foreign university, therefore would it be appropriate to select 'no' since it was a one year MSc degree and I am also providing my Indian masters degree?

Yes, that's what I had mentioned in my first reply, that they ask about it separately.
I don't think there should be any issue but it's just my opinion as I don't have firsthand or even secondhand experience in this matter.
In my experience, they are not very finicky about these matters except for basic degree (eligibility criteria) and community certificates (for reservation benefits).

A question regarding uploading documents.
In the portal there is space for matriculation & graduation degree.
However, in the 'preview of the form' pdf, it mentions 'please upload scanned copy of all the certification/degree' right next to educational qualification.
We are supposed to upload just the matriculation and college degree right? Don't have to upload 12th marksheet?
Thank You
@Neyawn it says: ye koi niyamit rozgar nahi hai. And that we'd be called only when required. Moreover they have mentioned in the letter itself that they have no issue with us seeking employment anywhere.Sir, what should i mention in the employment columns? Does this qualify as a temporary government service or is it more of a casual work? The employment column asks to select between permanent, temporary and ad hoc.Thank you.
@neyawn
Could anyone please help?
I'd like to mention this field during the interview. But i'm unsure if this qualifies in any of the categories of employment provided in daf 1 at the moment.
Please help.
Thank you.

You can select the "ad hoc" option. Persons working in casual/ad hoc/daily wages/hourly paid/contract basis are not required to submit an undertaking.
The image above is from another exam conducted by UPSC. So, it should be the same for CSE as well, as far as I can tell.

@GaryVee Thank you so much.I was going to do as you suggested. However, on clicking yes for government/public enterprise, it says that i need to have intimated my department head in writing and obtained a receipt from them. How do i go about this now? Thanks for your help. Means a lot.
Hmmm, if that's the case, then I'd suggest leave it for now.
You can talk about it in DAF-2. It's not an issue.
If you had time, you could have intimated them and got a receipt but you can't do that now
If you just want to talk about this in the interview, then you can easily include it in DAF-II.
But if your motive is to show that you're not unemployed, then you'd have to call their helpline and enquire what to do.

Sir
1. I have done graduation in BA. I have uploaded 6th semester marksheet in which marks of all three year are given. Is it fine?
2. How much time will we get to show final degree certificate? Is it during interview or we are given extra time also?
Usually the Interview. You will be allowed to appear for the Interview, but asked to submit within 48 hours sometimes.
Do not sweat on it, furnish what you have/had and go ahead.
2-3 years back, there were two 20 year old kids I was mentoring. The younger sibling was in final year and she got interested in the exam somehow. She appeared for Prelims, cleared Mains, but before the Interview she was asked for degree certificate. She had marksheet but not degree certificate. It was a tough time.
She appealed in Bombay HC, and it directed UPSC to conduct her Interview.
You may not have heard of her as she is social/ media shy, but she is really the youngest IPS officer of the country. Nitisha Jagtap.
