Astride of a grave and  a difficult birth,

Down in the hole, lingeringly, the grave digger puts on the forceps.

We have time to grow old.

The air is full of our cries.

But habit is a great deadener.

At me too someone is looking, of me too someone is saying, He is sleeping, he knows nothing.

Let him sleep on.

"Time present and time past

Are both perhaps present in time future,

And time future contained in time past.

If all time is eternally present

All time is unredeemable.

What might have been is an abstraction

Remaining a perpetual possibility

Only in a world of speculation.

What might have been and what has been

Point to one end, which is always present.

Footfalls echo in the memory

Down the passage which we did not take

Towards the door we never opened

Into the rose-garden. My words echo

Thus, in your mind.

But to what purpose

Disturbing the dust on a bowl of rose-leaves

I do not know.

Other echoes

Inhabit the garden. Shall we follow?"

Forum was such a lovely place with the old members active here. So much of positivity and learning was around here especially during 2014/15 phase. :)

We can rebuild !

@Yo_Yo_Choti_Singh  ??you are a gem.

I too feel forum ke wo din wapas aane chaiye.... :)
@Neyawn ek accha push dijiye...

I am all for it guys.

Rahi baat Yo_Yo_Sir ki, I want to clarify three-four things here.

#1 I never tried to use forum name, or my own to link it to any programs of forum, at least in the early days of forum - even when we started academy. Only about last year or so, I made concious disclosure about it. That is because we wanted to grow slowly.

#2 forum lost the charm not because of commercialisation BY ForumIAS, but because of commercialisation ON forumias,(  i very secretly launched the programs of forum academy, which people in forum didnt even know about.) most of forum was full of advertisments and spamming by so many people ( which you can see on telegram now - all groups are full of spam, nothing else ) most people migrated to different websites much earlier, and this place was reduced to bakar. If i tried to push for mobile verification, people would make too much noise with too many profiles.

#2.5 personally i like building things from zero, so when migration happened to TG, i did nothing because if TG was a better solution, let people move to it. I decided to focus on the academy for a few years. also because of so many websites there was a flood of study material, which in the early days was created by a culture of co-operation and self help.

#3 we assumed that most people will understand that it is a good decision to keep academy and community separate. but people didnt think that way. they wanted support and discussion for academy here itself. it took us a long time to figure that if we dont allow such discussions here ( which in fact help promote the academy ), people develop more mistrust .@Zohanmukharjee  and a few other people convinced me that there is no harm in having these discussions here.

#4 lastly, today, if we had not worked on the academy at the right time, we would not have had so many people from the "forumias ecosystem". Today, we can proudly say though the community has most people in the civils selected list, and the academy contributed to more than half the people who are from "forumias". i can see that right from yo yo , iwra jyoti , haze - all these people are also from the academy , and a lot of people were not so much from the community as they were from the academy.

#5 now that we see that TG is another distraction and not really meaningful ( as  i had thought earlier), i will be focusing on this platform itself, and will keep it in a good condition with quality moderation and better conversations.

I have been on here since 2014(Discuss) as a silent spectator. Been working really hard to clear and probably with this attempt UPSC journey would come to an end.

@Neyawn's Posts is so encouraging and I owe it to you big time, brother! Especially the posts just before prelims.

@Yo_Yo your journey is inspirational brother! I derive strength from your journey.

Bas aur jyada likna nahi aata bas, Forum has helped a lot in many ways! dhanyawaad sabka, dil se!

@IWRA  I have already found the next IWRA here :) In two years you will see him in the ranklist just like you :)

Also found another@HAZE . So in about a year or so you will have another someone in Top 50 :)

And you will realise you are growing old :P

@Yo_Yo_Choti_Singh  Still not found next yo_yo . The hunt is on :)

Haha, There won't be a next Yoyo. He is one of his kind, irreplaceable.

I am glad for IWRA.

More power to forum and it's lovely people.

To all the aspirants out here, use this platform as a family, build memories, find some good friends and live, survive. These will be some of the most beautiful days you will have. ( Irrespective of you are selected or not).

I always used to say this line on the old platform..Be honest to yourself, enjoy the journey. In the end, on your deathbed, you should be happy with the feeling that you failed rather than never tried.

P.S: It was nostalgic to see the 10000 QnA thread. Keep it up guys.

There can be and will be many next Yo Yo and IWRA et ifff they all come together and help each other without many intermediaries.  Because we had a platform connecting serious aspirants devoid of all kind of vested interests for long. Forum as a free Discussion Platform during those days was definitely a gem place. I wish people can recreate that kind of community space again which not only guided newbies rightly without any commercial motives but also actively learnt a lot from shared knowledge.

Only Free Neutral platforms builded by strongly serious aspirants guided by seniors can be best legacy we can leave in this UPSC journey.

I wish everyone here understand that and contribute maximum with a pure heart. #Sharing_is_Caring

#No_Unhealthy_Competition_No_Commercialization_No_Trolling this only can make a new Discussion Forum at par with older one. Otherwise serious people will desert it too without a single thought. I wish @root sir take care of all these aspects !

One good thing about lockdown that it brought you ppl back to forum.

Keep coming back here, would be a big help to all the new aspirants.

At the still point of the turning world.

Neitherflesh nor fleshless;

Neither
from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance is,

But
 neither arrest nor movement.

And do not call it fixity,

Where
 past and future are gathered.

Neither movement from nor towards,

Neither
ascent nor decline. Except for the point, the still point

There would be no dance, and there is only the dance.

I can only say, there we have been: but I cannot say where.

And I cannot say, how long, for that is to place it in time.

Nice to see this thread. So inspired to see Gyaani Babas like@Yo_Yo_Choti_Singh and@IWRA . I hv been here since 2013-14 era though i was more of a mute spectator. Your success is a huge inspiration to me- Hum honge kamyaab ek din@Yo_Yo_Choti_Singh  :). Zor lagane padega final time, ab to Pitaji bhi bolte hein, kuch krlo iss baar...haha.. Agree forum discussions must be revived & maybe revitalized, those were good old days.

"Pita ji ne itne man se bola h to iss baar pakka kuchh krenge !" Best wishes comrade !(Shukriyaa !)
