Doubt Clearance Thread: UPSC 2021

So the Chandrabhaga beach has been reported to get blue flag certification. But no govt document or official website source confirms this. Whats the status of the beach?

@Joeyisthebest thanks! So just to summarize for all out there:
1. Chanderbhaga DID NOT get Blue Flag
2. Japan and South Korea already have blue flag beaches, so India can't possibly have 1st Asian  Blue Flag Beach

One of those rare instances where The Hindu and others got it wrong! If it turns up on the question paper, could lead to a screwed up situation for many !

Regarding Hydrogen Fuel  Cells - A lot of sources mention them as zero GHG tech.

1.But given the fact that they emit water vapour - shouldn't the case be that they emit GHG, but not harmful GHG's?

2.Also, isn't it the case that only pure hydrogen fuel cells wouldn't emit harmful GHG's? And others would

@Freakhoto Boss with that logic no constitutional authority would enjoy a fixed term. CJI can be impeached, PM is subject to vote of no confidence and so on....

Certainly the term is fixed upto CJI'S age, 65!

Yes, not the pm in strict sense. though take someone like the CAG! Simple point is the fact that if there's a provision which can remove you simply doesnt mean an authority doesnt have  a fixed term.

@Freakhoto my point is that doctrinally no tenure is fully secure. Thus, a fixed term implies a statutorily/constitutionally laid down term until a certain time (5/6 yrs) or age (60/65/67/70). Whether the term of X is less/more secure is a matter of real-politik.

@Thinker in my opinion all are mandatory. First 2 under the Constitution, last 2 under FRBM Act

My query is regarding Ramjet and Scramjet engines. So, isn't it true that ramjet engines can help vehicles they're fitted into attain Supersonic speeds. It is just that combustion within takes place at subsonic speed. Also, scramjet can attain hypersonic speed, but combustion within their engines is limited to supersonic. Is this conceptual base accurate?

So the Constitution mentions that in order to be appointed the Attorney General; person should be qualified tovbe SC Judge. Well , I'm guessing if you're 65 you are  no longer qualified to be an SC Judge. Yet we have had AG's above 65? (No grudges against KKV here, the guy is fab!)

Regarding PT365 Environmemt Module:

The source mentions the last sighting of Himalayan Quail in 2010, while most internet sources date it back to 1870's (including WWF )

I'm skeptical of VisionIAS module's 2010 claim since there were other mistakes in the module

(Like they said Chairman of NBWL is the Environment Minister!)

Which one is the correct date?

Hi ! This is to divert attention to 2021 prelims now.

Seva Sadan - some sources say its founded in 1885, other mention 1908. Need a Boddisattva to help me gain nirvana here!

Consider the following statements :
1. Under Akbar, the system of Zabt was established over a large area from Punjab to Awadh.
2. In the seventeenth century North India, the system of Zabt lost much ground to the system of Kankut.
Which of the statements given above is/are correct?
(a) 1 only
(b) 2 only
(c) Both 1 and 2
(d) Neither 1 nor 2

@EiChan so this is from CAPF 2021, I saw some post paper analysis and most folks put the answer to be A. I'm still skeptical about the second statement and looking for a reliablensource to confirm its (in)correctness

Functional chromosomes can be created by joining segments of DNA taken from cells of different species.

Why is this statement wrong?

But isn’t chromosome a DNA molecule
