yeah, that's why I said that in international tournaments defensive teams do go the distance. Although it was not all about defence for Portugal, like for instance, the 3-3 game against Hungary was the big turning point in the group stage, but yeah you are right by and large their defence was a big factor for them in scrapping results against Poland and Croatia

Am I wrong to think that this group stage is far more exciting than what we have had at previous major tournaments? Is it because of the formats(4 3rd placed teams going through)?
yeah the format makes it interesting...it was the same case in Euro 2016 too especially the group with Hungary and Portugal
media is going crazy there. He is David Beckham the second coming. I see this as another thing that we have inherited in India from our colonial masters besides UPSC and Railways
