Is it necessary to go Delhi for UPSC Preparation???
Please guide me shall I go to "Mecca" of UPSC for preparation or would I excel even studying from my hometown itself.
Please tell about all the pros and cons of residing in Delhi for UPSC.

People have done both - gone to Delhi and stayed at home to prepare for Civil Services. You should be good to prepare for the exam at home, if you can ensure that
- you have a room for yourself for studies.
- you have good atmosphere for studies - by which i mean you do not have too many people at home
- your family does not treat you like an unemployes person and assigns you garbage work - such as brining milk, vegetables, ration - or worse, going and seeing some relatives.
- your family does not have discussion on family issues and family politics - which may occupy parts of your mind, even for entertainment purpose.
- you are able to study peacefully for 8-10 hours of sitting, without disturbance by anyone. Note that studying requires concentration, and even if it is broken by some knock at the door you are done.
- make sure that you take some test series, so that you can have a good look at the score, and keep a competitive bent of mind.
On the other hand, Delhi works well for you if
- you can financially afford staying in Delhi. Remember the cost of staying may be more than the cost of coaching
- if you can manage to pick up a good library and burn midnight oil there, instead of loitering around
- if you can take some good classes, and make notes for each subject. Generally people take 3-4 attempts before they make relevant notes for the exam, or attend some classes.
- if you perform better when you see people around you studying and thrive seeing competition around you ( some people do ), by all means come to Delhi.

There are many people in SFG who are not able to cross 50 also are in dire need of his guidance, like me also.
Sir has been consistent in his marks and I idolise him too much. I hope he answers this and advice new comers like us to clear this exam with flying colours :)

No! I think that questions are wrong isliye sir ke galat ho rhe hai, warna sir ka revision bahut strong hai! I don't doubt sir ke capabilities, please you also don't doubt.

@HeNeArKr @sjerngal @sstaarr No need to idolise anyone, even if anyone is scoring 90% in any tests. I will advice to please follow LEVEL 1 papers of this year's SFG after you are done with daily revisions, those papers having a vast coverage of NCERTS questions too that will help you to guide through this. Even@sjerngal can guide us in a better way because after few days she will be appearing for interview. In previous level everything is good for me till 1st month (polity,MH,economics). These are subjects which we (Having 3+serious attempts) had done multiple times with core basic books but Full length paper is mixture of all. Focus must be there to clear cutoff rather than being perfectionist, till the time anyone scoring 65-70% is in good stage for upcoming 2 months fight.
