@Haeckelyeh you are right... specially point number 1.
After giving my exam ..I was satisfied except with paer 2 of optional. However ,now I am depressed.

@Yes_I_am_inThe answers we write are mostly exhausted within the week of optional prep. Mostly we remember the line of thought. Also performance is subjective, qns have various interpretations and everything is fine in upsc. There is no need to worry bhai. Stay confident

Sahi baat hai bhai. Mujhe toh apna na select hone ka kaaran buri kismat hi lagta hai. Kaafi events hue hain over a period of time, over various attempts.
Ek misconception bhi hai bhai, people who are clearing this exam for the past 2 to 3 years are generally people who have been at it for a number of attempts, it is unlike 2014 2015 when a lot of new people used to get selected. Maybe you guys can analyse the reasons.@Yes_I_am_in

@Yes_I_am_inKyunki kuch kamiyan har attempt mein rahi that's my take of my situation:

1. kisi mein lack of answer writing practice.

2. kisi mein optional prepared nahi tha.

3. mere last attempt mein GS-2 ka 45 marks ka chhoota tha.

4. Ethics ki mystery aaj tak solve nhi ho paayi.. Test series mein ethics mein 120 bhi aaye but exam mein seedha choke slam baja.

5. GS-1 mein socha tha iss baar ki pre ke baad pehle ek mahine mein fatafat kar lunga.. padhne baitha toh laga yaar ye toh aasaan hain.. phir wahi bakchodi gs2 aur 3 ki chaaloo.. last 10 days mein GS-1..

6. Till date i m not confident w.rt. basic books like Laxmi, Ahir, NCERTs etc.

kul milaake baat ye hain ki i still don't know what's that optimum preparation level required to crack the exam. I am left wondering how do people top in maiden attempt jab yahan syllabus completion and revision still remains a challenge along with reading newspapers..May be I am dumb.. I have accepted my dumbness level over period of time..

Prelims mein chhutti milti nhi toh woh running mein do aur mains mein wahi last ke 45 days around..

Iss baar nhi clear hua Mains toh i will quit.. Can't beg more for leaves and it becomes tooo hectic at times taking toll of health.

So called maiden attempters.. first attempt bolnewale only for namesake.. most of them start preparing from 9/10th or in graduation..
Well verse in english.. great family background.. n of course guidance from right time..

Most ppl who get selected in 4-5th attempt start preparing after graduation and carve their own way by learning from own mistakes and improving

@HaeckelYes agree with these points here, especially 2 and 5. Exam ke 2-3 din tak hi ache se fresh rehta mind me usk baad bas frame yaad hai kya kya thoda sa kuch kuch likha tha. Hats off to people who still remember what all they have written in every question.

@Haeckelcrct bhai. I gave my 4th attempt and 3rd mains, got less in gs2 both times 72 and 82. still cant figure out why i get less. I got them verified by my friends who cleared mains with good gs2 marks. But its still a mystery for me.

@dr-ahmednaaz8567manne to 1-2 bhi acche nhi likhe ....almost saare average hi likhe hai...but hum honge kaamyaab

Koi RBI grade B ke lye apply kiya h kya?

@K_9bhai insights walo ko apna secure initiative chalana hai...darayenge nahi toh website ko hits kaise milenge...also their strategy of following the ans writing schedule is the most complicated thing I've ever seen in the journey of upsc
