Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread

Do we need to study a-lot to clear this exam? I mean is it like all points, data, issues and challenges should be on our tips ? What if we cant remember all points and data given in 365 ? Hell scared

@STnot at all buddy. 365 is over loaded with unnecessary content. See topper copies, you'll realize above avg content with consistency is the key. Stay relaxed, have good sleep and food during exams to produce the best of your knowledge. ATB.

@PhagocyteCant tell you how calming your words sound. Otherwise constant remarks in Test Series "Content Missing" made me hit all time low now.

What is considerd good marks in vision mains test series?
My highest in forum is 110 in GS1 and average in full lengths is around 98-100
and ranks are also pretty high up the order!
One of my aspirant friend was quoting 120-130 in Vision mains series!

@ManchesterUnitedI guess u r most well prepared on Forum with 170-180 topics readymade lined up, NITI done.. Dont bother yourself with Vision Mains TS at this time.

@chandler_bingOn UPSC website there is a model question paper cum answer booklet. On it, it is given only on right margin 'Don't write outside this margin'. No such thing is written on the left margin.

@ManchesterUnited120 is highest in vision 122-125 types...around 100 a good score. have seen many of the toppers checked copy they scored in the 90s or early 100.

Highest for a 10 marker is 5 and 7.5 for 15 marker
So practically you write a test for 125 marks here

you marks are pretty good in forum tests. What is your average rank in full tests ?
I just get around like 90-92.
I think forum gives 10 marks less than Vision, if you want to know your vision marks just add 10 to your final score.

Marks in tests make no sense "at all"

None of the TS knows how UPSC awards marks

TS is just for one purpose - writing decent answers of 20 Qs in time.

Once that's done, no need to waste time writing tests

Better to revise.

I never got above 90-92 in forum tests this year , someone told me kanishka katariya used to get 67 marks in vision test if that is true i will pray my luck strikes too in GS at-least lol
