Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread
Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.

Not being rude to anyone but what people say they wrote, what they actually written and what they truely present on paper are entirely different. This exam is so subjective that it entirely depends on mercy of the evaluator. You can only connect the dots, hang your boots till the result come. See how world is movong so fast, look in what way tou can fit in thos world, do sometgong towards it or prepare some other exams.
I am not giving gyaan here just an opinion from past experience.
This whole wait can be so harsh once you not find your number in the list. Prepare for worst and hope for the best
@azam-imame434True. There are people I know who haven’t even cleared pre giving gyan on how they tackled mains. I think the time is to just hold on to your nerves!
There is no need to be demoralised by the answers posted here or anywhere else, people usually post answers which they have written better and in the end there may not be any correlation in the marks obtained and the answers posted, I've been observing this for past 3 years.
Some times average content with decent presentation and structuring ends up amongst the highest scores, for example 2017 rank 6.
I am one of those who didn't know about the "types of vulnerabilities" in GS 3.
Where did you guys read it from ?
Apart from this, I had no idea about
*Integrated Farming System (IFS)
*National Watershed Program (NWP)
*MS Swaminathan & Visvesvaraya.
*Cyberdome.
*Traditional Knowledge wala question. (Later i got to know that it's inspired from a similar question from 2015 gs3)

Last year I attempted worth 220, got 70.
With Zero preparation.
But this time, i am quite terrified.

Wrote cyberdome on cybersecurity theme. . Just write types of vuknerability with no explaination, mentioned the points like rigitalisation of data, ipr strengthening, easy procedure, Mibistry of ayush, promotion of reseaech etc in traditional knowledge question but not used word TKDL,wrote weong about vishweswaraiya 's work, had stopped reading recent current affair in august itself so was little aware of UAPA but still write general answer,rest of my questions are good. .. My paper 3 story which i found difficult

That was my first attempt of upsc...had no idea abt structuring the ans,no writing speed so had to cut short the ans size for a decent attempt. Had directly addressed what's asked in question without doing any cosmetisation.
I know ppl who worked a lot on ethics bt still scored below 70 so we cant be sure abt what upsc actually expects. All the strategies and techniques of ans writing is based purely on speculations of people.

Even topper copies don't have such answers(2017 rank 1,2);(2018 rank 1,2).
If u r toppers how come you are still on forum and not cleared the exam with a single digit rank till now.
Will keep a track of@sat_009@Charlie_Charlieand see what rank they get.
If they are so true why don't they post their admit card so that we can keep a record of it and then check ur rank when results are out.
