I wish to qualify for Interviews and I somehow believe that I will!!
Kya yha par kisi aur ko aisi feeling hoti h!
Bhai kabhi2 ye wali feeling hoti hai, aur kabhi2 lagta hai ki ye wala attempt jane wala hai, toh phir aagey kya kia jaye..
@Yug_ We all should be optimist about ourselves and do our bit,
yes the interview call is dependent upon multiple factors marking pattern, competition, essay and optional performance, category and last but equally important luck (fortune favours the brave).
When the variables are too many we can't be sure about whats gonna happen, hence its better to be prepared as if you have to appear for interview next day,
in the past i have seen people with no hope to crack through mains becoz of inherent pessimism to get into interview roll call and missing final list by some marks just becoz of lack of mental preparation for interview,
many students with 820 to 840 have not been able to clear the final cutoff becoz of less marks in interview,
i know its highly subjective stage of exam and even most prepared have got less marks in interview many times but its also true that those who are mentally prepared for interview, those who give mocks fumble less and get atleast average marks in interview.
One must always be optimist about oneself, but the decision one takes must be rational and forward looking.
@CaesarBhai Chinta to bas Age aur Attempt ki hi hai!Dekhte hain kya hota hai
@sat_009Bhai you are very true! Bas essay aur ethics me thik-Thak aa jaye!!To dekhte hain!
@kanailalbal115history tha kya pehle
Found these compilations good to start with for interview preparation.
Anything more anybody can suggest from their past experiences?
Online platforms are public spaces for discourse. However honest one's opinions and expressions, there is bound to be dissent and suspicion among the participants. This becomes all the more relevant since your whole life will be under scrutiny and all your decisions questioned once you become a public servant. Your bonafide decisions will be turned against you and non existent motives attributed to them. Gradually, we all learn to accept them as inseparable parts of our life. We have to! There is no alternative. Why not start embracing opposition now itself as a prelude to the inevitable?
@dancingminion- If all are avg answers then you can expect max 80 marks. if 6-7 are good, then you get around 100.
The correlation between your subjective appraisal of someone's performance, gauged through their recollection of events transpiring during the exam and the actual rewards they will reap is so weak as to render to whole process meaningless. I have seen time and again, brilliant and flawless answers disregarded and mediocrity rewarded.
That having been said, the most sincere and relevant evaluation of your answers can be done only by you. The gut feeling you have, immediately after you walk out the exam hall is generally reliable. This applies especially to senior aspirants. Of course there is no rule. The topper this year will faithfully follow in the steps of his or her predecessor," I was not expecting a top rank".
Now, help me move out of the glut and make myself presentable for the interview panel. Let's motivate each other.
@ChampakTouche. The immediate gut feeling after the exam generally stands to be true. Although tough competition can kill off that buzz. Not to be rude here but not one person did question the guy who put his marksheet out. Nowhere it mentioned these marks are for 14-15 questions right.Let's not get ourselves to be carried away like Dawson episode did.
Standards on social media are so selectively applied that we tend to lose out on the collective benefit it has to offer. Going after character of anyone, be it anyone for any reason without establishing a cause first is nothing less than anarchy. Also reflects the moral bankruptcy and intellectual hollowness that we aspirants are showing, by participating in those debates. Let's make a concerted effort to look ahead now.
@dancingminionGoing by last year's standards, average answers in almost all questions would have given you 80s in GS1 and GS4, 90s in GS2 and GS3

So around 3 in 10 marker and 5 in 15 marker, right ?
What is the marking scheme in good and excellent answers ?
@dancingminionlast year for gs 1,2,3 my most of the ans were below avg
Gs 1 - Attempt 200,3-4 avg ans and rest below avg(fucked up even the defn of blue revolution) - marks 65
Gs 2- Attempt approx 215 - intl reln ans were avg rest all below avg - marks 75
Gs 3- attempt approx 215-220 - all below avg ans - marks 79
So if u have written avg ans and completed the whole ppr thn expect around 90-95
@dancingminionAverage should ideally give you more in 15 markers but yeah around this marking scheme things hovered last time. I mean that is my understanding after seeing marks of my friend circle and my own.
@Shubzthanks for the input
I guess, I wrote pretty average answers in my last attempt
My marks hovered around 80 in all the 4 papers
GS1 - 72 (less due to harsh marking in GS1)
GS2 - 83
GS3 - 80
GS4 - 85
Left almost 2-2.5 question in every paper.
So I guess people who have completed the paper and wrote even slightly above average answers can expect to get more than 90 - 95
