Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
@ranyo_asokaI thought in the same way.. just extended the "air masses" concept ( air masses PYQ tha btw ).
But you seemed to have gone further to even substantiate it. Nice.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_mass-- we seem to be close to what it is.
Differences, had to make up things like ocean currents are masses in movement.. cant recollect what other differences I made up. But felt very juvenile while doing it.
@RavsHistory better laga geograhy se.. maybe it's my stronger area. 1857 question not very happy.. dont think I could really make a link between early revolts and 1857. But baaki I found on easier side thankfully. Which question you found analytical in history?
Can the strategy of regional-resource based manufacturing help in promoting employment in India?
How did u guys approach this?
I first showed various resources on the map as an example. Then some history of how chota nagpur area ka resource use to build a strong basic goods industry post independence.
Then jumped into actual question of how few areas resources are under utilized.. say bamboo in NE. Couple of other such examples.
Also added at end that local resource isn't a constraint anymore to generate employment heavy industry thanks to how quickly raw material can be moved around< showing that the given question isn't the only way to go about >
Do we have cultural pockets of small India all over the nation? Elaborate with examples
Let me know your approach on this too.
I simply understood it as a question on cultural diversity and went about how there indeed are smaller microcosms of society based on factors of ethnicity, region, language etc. Gave examples. And finally added a point on how the small Indias are indeed a part and parcel of the whole.
I am afraid I addressed it in extremely simplistic way

i interpreted it as pockets where national diversity is getting reflected at a small scale and not just regional varieties. Jese china owns hote hai like that indian towns within India
@Phagocytei wrote how north india represents one pocket of india and resembles indian characteristics like diversity in terms of language, festivals, customs etc but are bounded together by commonalities of values n history....simularly wrote abt south n north east pockets and connected all these and how these pockets make up India as a whole....not sure whether its on expected lines or not
@PhagocyteI wrote it in terms of 'small' India.. Ghettoisation in Metropolitans, Slum culture, Dalit hamlets, Tribals, Minority culture and in last wrote about regional diversity.
I interpreted in terms of Pockets and Small India and accorded regional diversity last preference..
Seeing answers here, I feel i totally missed it
@Phagocytei wrote like this. India a nation of multiple languages and within a language there are multiple dialects across regions with their distinct literature. Cultural variations in food dance drama within smaller pockets similar to those across India. Filled up 2 pages with such stuff
@Phagocyteyeah..but difference was asked in context of egfect on coastal env and marine life i think
Warm Wishes

Kindly fill these . We could know comparative levels of performance .......
@John_TitorYa . May be but you should know how to handle .
All of them bhai.
During mains, I befriended two History optional guys (both veterans).
Even they found them a bit difficult.
Particularly Renaissance wala and that imperial British delaying independent wala.
I won't call GS 1 difficult but Easy bhi nahi tha.
Maine Delhi ke CR park ka example diya (Bengalis)
Delhi ke Kashmere Gate pe Monastery ka example diya (North Eastern people)
Sociology questions mein dimaag Kam chalta hai mera
@Akkkuoptions in the poll should be objective not bakchodi or mann ki baat
@RavsI mentioned in this question duty of DM to take preemptive steps to tackle natural disasters in the district and negligence towards such crucial task is undermining the value of public office meant for public welfare amounting to corruption.
@RavsI first defined corruption .
Then , argued that it is narrow definition .
Due to imp public tasks bureaucrats have to perform , if they fail to do , it harms public ...........
Fir , accepted the question proposition , then gave just an example .
