[Official] Interview Preparation for CSE 2019-20

Hello All,

I am starting this thread for Interview Preparation for CSE 2019 examination.

We created a group last year over Telegram, but the issue with the Telegram group is that we have lost out on all the conversations of the past year. That is the most valuable asset that we have and that which can be passed on to next year candidates.

P.S. All Interview Transcripts have now been compiled at the below link so that we can search for board members, profile, toppers scripts etc.

@Neyawn sir, what are the key attributes the board looks for in allotting 200+ score ?

@Neyawn Hey Ayush ; Yeah you did see my copies but you woud have seen copies of so many people.  Anyways I came to delhi couple of days back only. Gave forum's and KSG's mock . Do check PM.

@MassiveSuccess Can’t really generalise. But I’m sure anyone will be really pleased with a person

1. Who is true. Doesn’t project what one isn’t.
2. Is well informed. This doesn’t mean knowledge. But a personality that shows understanding of issues beyond superficial content.
3. Is composed, assertive. Doesn’t require language fluency/ costly attire. But presence of mind + confidence in presenting oneself.

Just my two cents ?

Cheers!

200+ Marks is not something you plan for. The goal should generally be to do a good interview and ensure not getting a low or average marks.

In hindsight, three people I know who got 200+ marks were Kajal, Aparajita and Krishan. 201,201 and 204.

What I would say is that they had good preparation. They were very objective in answers. Please do not go by their videos. if you do not find those things / qualities, remember that during preparation, people evolve.

Krishan was fine from Day 1 but others made improvements. Also, they were fully involved in the interview. They are generally simple in the way they answer too :)

When I talked about mis - representation, what I mean is that it may not be concious effort. It may happen sub consciously or unknowingly.

Because we generally want to write things in the DAF, we do end up mentioning stuff we have done for like 2 days as one of our achievements , or interest areas. The nature of Board is also that they try to verify the authenticity of your claim by cross questioning.

Is there any one here selected for interview under EWS? Please message me.

I think we need to discuss regarding the particulars of EWS certificate to be submitted.

The CSE 2020 notification has been released and they mentioned that FY 2018-19 is the period for which income has to be verified (meaning, ITRs for 2018-19 has to be submitted).

It means, for last year applicants, your ITRs has to be available for 2017-18. Did every one get ITRs (FY 2017-18) verified by the EWS issuing authority?

Since we applied for EWS after the financial year 2018-19 , it becomes a bit tricky. Some got ITRs verified for 2018-19.

Message, me, I think this needs discussion

is there any thread where this year's transcripts are being uploaded?

@langdatyagi please see the thread I have created. Search for "Interview Transcripts UPSC (CSE) 2019" in forum search bar. Please contribute whatever you can in terms of questions, or direct transcripts you have come across. Thanks!

Is there a chance of postponement of UPSC CSE interviews due to the threat of COVID19? Any one has any info regarding this?

Since many people all over India have to come to Delhi and stay in hotels ,  and post interview have to attend medical exam at crowded hospitals, I think there is a risk of spread. Is UPSC not yet concerned ?
