Hi peeps. Let’s do this!
1. Previous papers from 2009 (both papers are in the same PDF):here2. Topic-wise PYQs: here
3. Look for PDFs of books here: b-ok.cc, http://libgen.rs/, archive.org
4. Model answers from SR:here
5. OnlyIAS notes, if you need extra matter for a few topics:here
6. SR notes, typed:politicsforindia.com
Same plan but i am apprehensive about Online test as I am not sincere so giving test for 3hr at home is achilles heel.
PS : Anyone who faced similar problem and now able to complete 3 hr tests can tell me how to do it !
If anything I was pretty good with regards to timing for this mains. Initially I used to take 4-5 hours as well. But what helped me was to cut myself off after the 3 hr limit, irrespective of whether I completed or not. So my first few tests were all incomplete. Each test i would try to at least write one more answer than the previous test. Another tip is to print out the sheets given by the test centres because register pages are much bigger and you’ll basically lose time writing in those sheets as well. I also roped in my mother to be an “invigilator”. She would walk into my room in the middle of the test etc. I actively encouraged her to make some small noises/ disturb me on the pretext of “signing entry sheet” etc so that I would not get flustered during the actual exam as well. Plus you’ll realise that once you are thorough with the material your time taken per answer automatically drops. I also suggest keeping a watch and planning how much time you want to give per question and adhering very strongly to that.
Would try this and start writing few test sectionals as well as flt to overcome my fear. This printout thing should help. Let see how it rolls when I attempt it for the very first time. Thanks

Got it! I initially thought this Robert Dahl's polyarchy hi, until I saw madam's notes. She has done pluralist and monistic theory of sovereignty too under Theories of State which isn't technically in syllabus...that got me confused.
Thanks yaar :)
Nahi, imo Pluralist theory of sovereignty (of SR notes - MacIver and Laski) should form the core of your answer. Even@whatonly has covered that partially (see "impartial arbiter" "association of associations" in the top point). You can also mention Dahl's Polyarchy but that isn't as theoretically rich as the other one (at least as far as SR's notes are concerned)
EDIT: UPSC asked it in 2019 and I wrote the Pluralist theory of Sovereignty. I'm pretty sure that's the way to go but you can make up your own mind.
Haan after prelims only. I didn't even do answer writing before prelims. That was not smart and could have backfired in my face, but I do think doing full length tests can wait until after prelims. Revision is far more important now.
Thanks. Full focussed on revision of complete GS and Optional. But to overcome my current fear, should go for some FLT practice.

Yeah, fine. I'll keep this in mind. Thank you.

True, I have Laski and MacIver under a separate section on sovereignty. Anyway writing only polyarchy will not be enough content even for a 10 marker, so all three of them would be best.
I don't hang out in this thread because whenever I come here I go back feeling what a loser I am. xD You all people have so much figured out or at least you know what to do. Even the thought of a test makes me tremble. I have a lot of backlog PSIR tests. I hope to improve thoda thoda & learn from all you people.
Hahaha if you’ve noticed I never update as regard where I am with the syllabus. We’re all swimming in the same rickety boat. As a very wise fish once said, “just keep swimming.”

I know you want me to feel okay, but I can see through your lie. xD
I’m very good at appearing much more competent than I actually am 😂😂
Can you all tell me how you went about completing any topic? I just feel like nothing is enough. Everything is so jumbled in my head.@whatonly 's mind maps gave me one way to simplify the mess & I am trying to go that way. But please tell me how you did it?
Last year, I started my optional entirely after the prelims (wrong choice absolutely) so I pegged my revision to a test schedule. This time I’m giving myself around 20 days per section and going according to that
Can someone clear a confusion of mine. In the Pluralist theory of State, we basically write Pluralist theory of Sovereignty? Is that so?
There was a question on this in sr test series . I wrote polyarchy they still gave me decent marks and the guy who wrote pluralist theory of sovereignty also got the same marks. I think teacher's are also confused here :p
Although the model answer says it's theory of sovereignty.
Hey guys 2021 will be my first attempt and after the postponement, I am a bit confused about how to structure my prep.
I have done the tablet course of PSIR from SR and I haven't revised it as such.
I was wondering that after which reading did you guys start making short notes and should I make notes right now, considering my GS prep is average and a lot of improvement is to be done in the static portion in GS?
I am thinking of giving June and July for PSIR plus mains and after that exclusively for pre.
Any help would be great! :p

yes she has covered under same headline or topic.. so in the end both are same??

It’s both basically. Best to mention pluralist theory of sovereignty (Laski and MacIver) as the main and others pluralist theories in passing.

More or less yes. Refer to@KropotkinSchmopotkin’scomment above.

These are Tushar Gupta's notes if I remember correctly. I did try to go through these once, they looked very personalised, I felt it would be a little difficult to revise through these! 🤔
