Letz see The Pattern and Marks variation
best for individual not neccessarily best for society
2 paras per page , neat presentation with underlining with black pen
dint write essay in a biased way ,like dint let it go negative
in philosophical took the middle path by talking about both aspects
health education startd with a self made story/scenario containing both healtheducation aspect and ended with that
philosophical startd with gandhi and hitler moving to religious and spiritual dimension nd so on with emphasis on environmnt, sustainable developmnt circular economy nd stuff
tried addressing every dimension with 1-2examples per para
concluded the essay taking 2 sides of the sheet
ended with the same story which i startd health education vala
nd philosophical with a progressive quote
also used quotes in between the essay
also the individual in philosophical essay was not limited to individual person ,addressd individual person ,indi nation ,society ,planet and so on
finished both essays in 9 -10 sides of the sheets

Was among the top scorers in gs2,3 in vision tests....still unable to believe my gs3 marks
@Shubz Bhai did you attempt all the questions ? And was this your first mains? Sorry for too many questions but I just wanted a perspective to analyse my score which is quite similar to yours except GS 1 (I have 72 there ).I just wanted to know because I missed a lot of questions (couldn't write any mains test, thanks to ill health). Left around 240 - 250 marks in all 6 papers taken together. I have a very different writing style than what is suggested by most toppers. So I just wanted to understand that should I just focus on improving writing speed or do I need to change style.
My second mains but first serious one.
Dnt fall for the strategies doing rounds in market. Last yr i wrote whatever i felt and scored better in gs2,3 than this yr even after attempting only 15-16 questions each....but this year i followed all the advises doing rounds in old rajinder nagar coachings and got screwed badly.
So write simple, straightforward,to the point answers. Even introductions are overhyped. Dnt waste more than a sentence in intro and draw diagrams only when it is absolutely necessary and it adds meaning to the ans and is not just a substitute of things which could be written normally
For Section A started with a Quote about Change (Read in PSIR). Build up the narrative about the inevitability of change in the next couple of paragraphs. Then linked it to accepting changes and trying to adapt and improve rather than living in denial. This was the basic premise. Later built upon it by citing examples from different spheres - Ashoka from Ancient History, India's freedom struggle as well as the progressive legislations passed after independence. Similarly quoted examples from social sphere (Like R Roy, Vidyasagar etc), economic sphere (like WTO, BASEL norms). Linked it to present about climate change and the leaders like Trump who are not even willing to acknowledge it. Also quoted examples of people who have stood against all odds and succeeded. So it was basically about examples from different spheres and 1-2 paragraph on each one of them. I think I covered 6-7 dimensions. Concluded with something on the lines of the need to acknowledge the modern day problems (terrorism, climate change, poverty etc) and trying to improve on that front, included a quote as well. Honestly, didn't feel very good about it but maybe it worked out.
Primary healthcare and education was easy I think. Had some data about India's expenditure on Education and Health and world average as well. So used it to substantiate how we spend less on them. Also used PRATHAM report findings, and poor primary healthcare.
As far as preparation was concerned, I didn't have much time between pre and mains due to hospitalization for nearly a month. Hence, focussed on optional and GS. The only thing I did was I collected some data and quotes on expected topics like health, education, women, climate change etc. Infact, I have worked more on Essay in last 2 weeks than what I did last year.
@Shubz Thanks bhai, would stick to my style then. I write in paragraphs as I feel it is more coherent and I rarely draw diagrams. Could attempt only around 200 - 210 in each paper and seeing the scores I feel if I could have attempted all the questions, I would have probably got the interview call. So improving speed is the main focus now. Were your essay scores similar in both attempts ? Or there is randomness in that as well? A bit paranoid as I had a fairly decent score this year (143)
127 in 2018 n 139 in 2019
@Hitman2021 highest marks in PSIR ??
May be of Navneet Mann ma'am though not sure about it.
One bad day and things might not go in your favour, there are things and places to improve, suggestions are welcome.
