no idea. I have marked D, but took it wrong. As per me, conceptually it’s 1&3. But weight of the lid doesn’t matter, weight on the lid matters though. So it’s technically 1 only. But I don’t know what UPSC is going to give.
@srivalliguru940 For me, it will mostly be incorrect. I thought weight of the lid won't matter and went with the other two. Weight on the lid is understandable but weight of the lid? Do not know how would it matter?
UPSC doesn’t give keys based on Supreme Court verdicts. We need to stick to basics. Moreover, I saw that article only once. And to my knowledge, it shows that there is no discrimination between contract workers and permanent workers.

@monisha27 The DOPT was formed in 1970 on recommendations of 1st ARC 1966's report of 1969. And it's head was PM. Second statement is definitely correct.
Though the full fledged ministry came into existence in 1985.
Yeah that’s probable. But the steam is not pushing the lid up, but it’s pushing that weight we put. So weight of the lid might not matter. But once again, not sure :)

Though, I have no idea about answer keys but both statements seem correct to me.

@srivalliguru940 the weight on the lid isderivedbased on the maximum pressure that the cooker can withstand safely. This maximum pressure isdependenton the design specifications of the cooker. Weight of the lid may be part of the design specifications
