So, I know I am too late, and there has been possibly no discussion on this question, but a doubt

The question "With reference to Indian judiciary..."
Statement 1 is:

Any retired judge of the Supreme Court of India can be called back to sit and act as a Supreme Court judge by the Chief Justice of India with prior permission of the President of India.

I marked C initially, but went with B, because I remembered that the prior permission of the retired judge is also necessary. Every answer key has given the answer as C, and no one has discussed this here. Just a passing, inconsequential doubt, if anyone would help clarify it.

I am also on same page as you , only consenting can be recalled

Yes prior consent of the judge is needed, but can he be called back with the permission of President? Yes. That's what is asked

No even with permission of president the consent of judge is needed  reach article again

This year many would fail in csat ,atleast 25 percent of those who cross the cutoff in Paper 1.cutoff shld be in the range of 85 to 87.5 .It could look low but most of the inflated marks would come down accrdng to upsc keys.

It clearly mentions consent is needed before he sits and acts as judge but consent is not needed for chief justice to call him.in short, anyone could propose love but it's upto the person to reject it or not.

To sum up excess of knowing anything brings confusion

through confusion comes new knowledge, and, unfortunately, lesser marks

Kind of why people ask us to go with the initial gut instinct I guess.. Easy to say but very hard to implement ofcourse under such immense pressure

paper is completely based on rote learning. In this qstn,i forgot that point u mentioned. It created a situation in any particular qstn u r well of if u dont know the qstn then not knowing it 100 percent exactly.

Why is it that people who are sure of not clearing csat usually claim their gs marks above the range of 95-100....last year too the comment section was full of scoring 120 in paper one but can't clear csat.

you can't blame them. it was such a paper. if you simply look at it with out actually writing the exam, it will look easy. A lot of the questions are related to what you hear during prep

Not going to lie. I did it last year. 2021 was my first attempt. Seeing few questions in the 2020 prelims and got all excited about few questions that I would have got correctly.

Saw the optional paper from 2020 right after mains and I was like - not too bad, this is doable. Currently losing my mind writing an optional test series :))))))))

Human mind works in weird weird ways I guess :P

In quora many get beyond 120 as per their self confession  and are giving gyan abt developing proper elimination techniques.I almost cried abt my incompetence reading that.I could understand those who prepared well getting upto 110 but beyond that its a hard pill to swallow

paper 1 was in the style of state of psc and favoured rote learning ,this year unlike in the last 3 years. As per my theory, many of those who r good at rote learning alone would have suffered in csat but they would have found this year paper 1 easier than 2020. some were good at anytype of paper though.
