[official][prelims 2024] How was prelims result? In or out?

Hey everyone, seeing ki kisi ne abhi tak result ka kuch significant comment nahi kiya let me kick things off. I’m not clearing, this was my last attempt. Most people here might not remember me (or my bread puns) but I have been a longtime member of Forum and have been keeping a low profile for the past two attempts. I had sincerely hoped that this attempt would be “the attempt”, especially given that I have many friends who are in service already. I had hoped that it wouldn’t be much longer before I had the coveted three letters before my name as well. But if anything, I have learnt equanimity from giving this exam. I know will never have “another attempt, another mains, another fact sheet to memorise” but that’s just life. It’s neither bad, nor good, it just is. Life just goes on (a cruel thought to some and perhaps a comfort to others). So for me too life will go on, however this is a chapter I shall lay to rest.

To those who are still giving their attempts and are still in this exam process, hang in there. This exam will eat away from you, if you let it. It is your responsibility to yourself to not let it become anything more that what it is, an exam. Many people will try to convince you otherwise (particularly coachings) but it isn’t. At the end of the day it is another exam for another government job, which comes with its fair share of good and bad days, just like any other government job. I say this because as I currently type this message I’m sitting in a small village in Karnataka which has zero network but the most stunning views. Some of the most deprived tribal learners but also the most inane school politics that revolve around “kis teacher ko kaunsa staffroom mila”. So keep your head up and never let this exam limit you, in terms of how you view yourself, or how you view success.

Before I sign off, I have a lot of good people to thank, those who have stood by me and my seemingly endless journey. Firstly, my parents who have been subject to the process without any complaints and much choice. We do not realise it but our parents suffer as much if not more. My friends outside the UPSC circle who have been patient with my eccentric schedule and my lame excuses for not being able to meet (unke liye missing a hangout to attempt a test is quite lame- as it should be :p). My friends in the UPSC circle, my fellow comrades forged out of shared pains and joys @sstarrr @Steph_Curry @Rashmirathi @HeNeArKr @AzadHindFauz @Celeborn @Infinitybeyondinfinity @Jammu @KingSlayer23 and other veterans who have moved on to other wonderful things. As well as to the wonderful teachers who have helped me get as far as I got. I am yet to meet a teacher with the kind of insane work ethic that Dipin sir possesses. Most of all, thanks to Forum, for helping me find a space of my own, my friends, but more importantly for helping me fall in love with the prep journey all over again when i was feeling untethered and adrift.

It’s not quite the sign-off I was expecting, but for one last time, let’s get this bread!

we had a good run, didn't we?  :)

It is a sign-off from me as well, time to explore new avenues, and who knows we might still find a way to contribute positively to society.

@Steph_Curry @Celeborn @necromancer interview prep with you guys will remain my fondest memory in these 6 years. Damn, it was good!

Until next time :)
