UPSC Previous Year Questions: CSP 2021
One cannot place less emphasis on the fact as to how important it is to solve questions asked by UPSC Previously. In fact, UPSC tends to repeat from its own stock, verbatim.
This thread, shall be solely dedicated for posting questions asked in CSP & CAPF.
I shall be posting questions here on a daily basis. Urge you all to answer these in all seriousness. Shoot doubts if you have any, wrt solving any question.
Remember the idea is to solve them, again. Reading questions and solutions is NOT sufficient.

State legislatures only have a say on the quantum of members and Chairpersons for SCs and STs while the reservation for Women as members and chairperson is Minimum 33%.In the first statement Chairperson by default has the right to vote in the Panchayat meetings or are there any exceptions.Thanks for your initiative.
The question is asking which statement isNOTcorrect. Now, let's check each statement according to the constitution.
D is correct- 243 J. Audit of accounts of Panchayats.- The Legislature of a State may, by law, make provisions with respect to the maintenance of accounts by the Panchayats and the auditing of such accounts.
C is correct- 243 E . Duration of Panchayats, etc.- Every Panchayat, unless sooner dissolved under any law for the time being in force, shall continue for five years from the date appointed for its first meeting and no longer.
B is correct - 243 D The offices of the Chairpersons in the Panchayats at the village or any other level shall be reserved for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and women in such manner as the Legislature of a State may, by law, provide: This means it is the prerogative of the state legislature to decide THE MANNER, not just quantum.

@Upsc_2020 Thanks for the detailed response. Got confused by your earlier answer to this question wherein you made a typo by quoting B as the answer instead of A.
upsc2020,222.B I guess. Statement 1 is unrelated, and Statement 4 might not be necessarily true as other minor forms of irrigation may be there.

You just have to know Bhimtal and Lonar. That's available in several texts.
One has to learn to eliminate for pre. We can't know everything. :)

@upsc2020 Quite helpful and thank you for the initiative. Went through all the questions posted here. Could you post the answer for Q152, which is about the summary settlement of 1856.Also, there was one question about the misnomer of first, second and third round table conferences and why are these called so? There was no answer to this one, could you please check that?
