Official: SFG / RLG All Tests Discussions in one place

I asked the invigilator in my classroom about theReverseoption. He went out, asked someone and told me that it is Reserve. I conveyed the same to the teacher who discusses the test, he told me that he'll consider my case.

He also said that we should take care about such questions. Even though it was a mistake, it was prudent to stick to the options 100%

@Anshhhh In proportional representation all parties which stand in election get seats in proportion to their votes.
Parties don't show individual candidates, rather there is a roster of 10-20 candidates from each party, for let's say 20 seats.
For example, there is roster of candidates which include Rahul Gandhi, Scindia, Sachin Pilot, Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Kamal Nath, Captain Amarinder Singh etc. Now congress receives 1/5th of the total votes, so they get 4 seats. In those 4 seats, congress can install any of their 4 candidates. 4 seats go to Amarinder Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. It doesn't matter if people had voted with Scindia or Pilot in mind.

In this manner, the party takes precedence over needs of the voter. I hope you understood.

Test 16, Q38.

Statement 1-ALLDelhi Durbars were conducted atCoronation Park, Delhi

This has been marked incorrect according to the answer key.

I believe this statement is correct.

1. Proof for1877 coronationat Coronation Park.

https://blogs.loc.gov/international-collections/2017/11/the-delhi-durbar-and-the-proclamation-of-queen-victoria/

2. Plaque at Coronation Park specifically mentions1911 coronation.

3. https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/new-delhis-106th-anniversary-coronation-pillar-wears-defaced-look/articleshow/62041742.cms

Turns out you are right.

But it has been mentioned in many places that Home charges include the miitary aspect as well.
First is a screenshot from Jagran Josh and the second is the screenshot from RC Dutts book.
(PDF- https://socialsciences.mcmaster.ca/econ/ugcm/3ll3/dutt/EcHisIndia2.pdf )

So probably the answer key could be wrong.

Edit- On second thought, it says "all charges of british troops in India, and partial cost of TRANSPORTATION to and fro India"

It could be interpreted that cost ofwaging war  is not included per se. Confusing.

@TH14 Allahabad Durbar. 1858.

Question is asking about only the Delhi Durbar

3.4k views
@TH14 question says "waging war outside INDIA. "
Whereas snap shot of R. C. Dutta book reads " cost of military and other stores suppliedTo INDIA "

Read the jagranjosh link. It elaborates on home charges. same can be found in Dutt's book verbatim.

There is some confusion though.

Wavell plan equal representation toCaste hindu and muslims. Means only upper caste Hindus were considered, not all hindus.

Just check it out from your own end as well. I checked from Mrunal's video on the same topic and it only says Equal repr to Hindus and muslims. Spectrum says caste hindus. Please take a second opinion.

Since you're not conducting discussion for current affairs tests, please share your solutions (with sources) for the same at least. One gets exasperated trying to understand why certain answers/statements are considered incorrect. In the discussion, at least 100 people realize the rationale behind the same and could help others out (theoretically), without one, we all are doomed to run like headless chickens, trying to prove or disprove your answer key.

Also, changing the sequence of words in a statement can make it incomprehensible and can often lead to different interpretation of the same. For Example-

Q13.Statement2- The MHRD would recognize a number ofstartup companies for developing technology EdTech companiesthrough a ppp model.

I totally misinterpreted the statement and ended up marking it incorrectly, because it had ambiguity. I agree that it could be a personal mistake, but please focus on making coherent statements.

Similarly in one of the history exams, the statement said that Muslim League covertly started Direct Action Day on 16 Aug 1946. Covert by definition implies stealth and secrecy. ML explicitly stated they will start Direct Action Day. How would this becovert

@ranahere999 Thanks for the reply and clearing it up with regards to covert.

I don't believe UPSC gives grammatically incoherent statements. Startup companies for developing technology edtech companies could very well be interpreted as MHRD and Start up coming together to create an EDtech company.

It doesn't mention startup companies at all.

It's a minor issue most probably and it might feels nitpicking. But it does make a difference in the interpretation.

Attaching screenshot from Emissions Gap Report. CHINA, US EU followed by INDIA are the top 4.

If specifically country isasked then the answer would've been different.
