Guys, any idea when is the CS Exam final result coming out? Last Interview is on May 26th as far as I can recall. Any guesses?
Just the sheer unpredictability of this exam astounds me. Those who seemed very sure of clearing in this attempt (made it till the interview), didn't make it to the final list. While two people who I know preparing for 5th June's prelims and were not at all sure have cleared it. Albeit with 150-200ish rank so they'll be giving it again to get into IAS.
Seriously can one ever be certain about their performance in UPSC? Or is this some sort of a Russian roulette that you keep playing till you make it through or you crash out? I'm asking this specifically for those who do not have solid backups, because then its not just about 'hoping for the best', it is a very tangible consequence of not having a Plan B which could be a career disaster. Anyone who's experienced, UPSC veterans, need some advice on this? Especially@Neyawn sir, getting a bit anxious with the uncertainty around this exam

Civils Mains:2017,2018,2020,2021,Forest Mains:2021.
The Commission has a sick sense of humour. They declare the results so close to the Prelims that even the most well intentioned, well prepared, hard working candidate will flunk it were he to miss out in the final list, or were he to miss out final selection.
they play with others too. prelims marks are released just before the next prelims. finding out your actual marks is not as expected can be a real downer
