UPPCS-2021
Hey guys! Need suggestions on uppcs-Pre. I attempted 2020 paper to get the idea, and ended up marking only 60 questions correct effectively! There were too many factual questions which we generally ignore in UPSC. Any success mantra which could be integrated without harming UPSC prelims preparation?

ALSO, very importantly, I think we all need to write to UPPSC , regarding to provide students to choose their preliminary examination centre this time also, like happened last year. Many people could not attend exam because they couldn't reach examination centre.

After analysing 2019 and 2020 paper, I think History and Geography part need to read from conventional sources keeping in mind factual nature of the exam. Also S&T plus CAs portion need to read exclusively for PCS. I am planning to cover these two from Ghatna Chakra. For rest I will read UPSC sources only with bit more stress on facts. Baaki will see....:)

I got 80 correct last time.What I felt was that you need to know about current affairs specially the kind of which we avoid while doing UPSC prep.. Also@Master how did you deal with those specific geography questions which they ask, like they asked about a valley where manganese is found in Malaysia.Where to do those questions from... seedhe Shanbdon mai material kaha milega un questions ka?

I tried solving UPPSC pre paper, got something around 70 only right. being a first attempter at both UPSC and UPPSC , dont have time for ghatnachakra of all subjects , what i could gauge was that mapping in geo , some facts about schemes (particulary when they are launched ) are easy scoring areas. Planning to do science and tech and current affairs (if time permits) from ghatnachakra.
ssver2,Brave@Jon_Targeryan Bhai material mil jayega par time kaha milega padhne ka. Mahesh Kumar Baranwal for Geography is very popular among UPPSC aspirant community. There is certainly trade off between CSE and PCS. I think at max 2 weeks can be given exclusively to PCS.
ssver2,Brave@Master could you please, for once list out what exactly famous books are there among UPPSC STUDENTS exclusively.
So that we could make necessary amendments in that direction.
Also what about requesting for examination centre ... Can we request the psc to provide us the choice.. I am afraid since cases are rising again and restrictions coming into places in many states there will be problems for those who are not resident of UP..
@Zilingo I don't have much idea as this is going to be my first attempt at PCS but I did a little research about sources. There is a common consensus about Ghatna Chakra. If all are to be done thoroughly including that of CAs, cut off could be cleared. But these are bulky so priority wise I suggest doings CAs>S&T>History>Geography>Polity>UP special>Environment>Economy. First two are absolutely necessary and rest could be done from conventional sources with greater focus on facts. Other sources could be Baranwal for Geography, Lucent General Science, Study for Civil Services CAs material, Old Ncerts for Ancient and Medieval and rest UPSC sources.
ssver2,Brave@Zilingo Yes, Ghatna Chakra Purwalokan name se. For 2021, I think General Science and Polity is available in the market. Rest will be released soon.
