UPSC CSE 2024 Related Discussion

Scrolling through over here I saw a discssion thread for every year but didn't find one for the next year.

So, this thread is dedicated to the discssions regarding CSE 2024. Anyone planning to appear for the exam next year can join the discussion.

Looking at the level of paper and kind of questions asked this year, I believe we are going to need a lot of support from each other. Hopefully this thread will grow and help a lot of aspirants, both old and new.

We can do it.

@Neyawn  sir  finding difficult to cope up with MGP schedule creating backlogs of tests(kindly advice). Anyone from community could explain how are they managing MGP schedule.

Just write the tests, with whatever content you have, you will never write perfect answers. Follow the schedule and finish it off

@TataIs it ok that I feel I write bad answers while writing tests? +what is your strategy of attempting any 3hour test?

@Orlando_Zia no revision, test copy not analysed, no mapping. got to push n schedule. good thing that i sorted out my planning doc.
Today- test mains+prelims, WCA and analyse whole test. time allows then fill gaps in last week's notes n docs-update with pyq dimensions. dont sleep without sorting next schedule n pinning on memory board.

@Aka227 completely okay, this discontent will only help us improve. make it mechanical, how can we make each point phrased better or crisper, etc...don't worry about time if you are beginner, make a muscle memory with practice of the step wise drill of what dimensions you will add n how you phrase every line..it is a hard mental drill..like some mentors say "you should feel a bit of guilt everyday as your competitors don't settle without improving everyday

@Orlando_Zia only mains test done. 1 pyq done. from today, don't go to bed without revision n analysis of day. take up one topic of last week n complete it. full focus on answers. see pyq, identify dimensions.

@Mr_BabuBhaiya  If you are thinking to go for it, then I would recommend so.
The classes were good.

Good evening maam, glad to have you back in the community!

I am writing my mgp tests, however, i can never get myself to revise my entire notes + value addition is another issue. How do you suggest i go about the same? Also, do you think mock scores are somewhat reflective of our score in the actual exam?

Wish you a speedy recovery!

Every day, I do brainstorm 5-7 PYQs. I then check them out from other sources, add the missing points or the entire topic (if not covered) to my base notes.

@Incoming Hi. Sorry for the delayed response.

I preferred to have all of the important facts from my notes and all of the value addition at one place for revising. I had maintained a google sheet in sort of a Q&A format. This really helped to quickly revise and replicated all of these things on paper, and saved a lot of time.

Adding a few examples:

I'm not able to get consistency for long . And very confused about how to proceed in next few months like nov to Feb . I'm not prepared for mains.. although it's my 4th attempt..I'm not confident about mains beacuse I always used multiple sources in each attempt and dependent on toppers notes ( 4-5 one for each attempt) but failed every time even at pre .now I'm not even  confident about my books list . Can anyone help me regarding my situation. I didn't new about this community thing before. Today by chance I got this . And this is my first day here( although I'm into preparation phase from last 4 years)

@Apollo11 thank you for sharing spread sheet idea. I want to know how you drilled keywords into your head? like what did you do daily or before tests for that? i find it hard to replicate keywords in my answer?
