So now we have 2 weeks to go for the Prelims 2026. What are your plans to make optimum use of this time?
Slightly unrelated to the post. Just wanted to share that I have been selected for Indian Forest service this year. It has been a long, challenging journey with 3 failed CSE interview attempts(2022,2023,2024).This forum was the only aspirant community easily available to me as I was preparing from home. Thanks to @Neyawn for all the strategy sessions and the SFG program. Cleared my prelims for the 1st time after 2 failed attempts after enrolling for SFG. I always listen to strategy videos when I feel lost especially before prelims. I second Ayush sir and would definitely recommend others to not tick the forest service box in the early attempts. This was my 1st forest attempt after 5 CSE ones and fortunately I made it to the list.(You definitely do not need to wait for as long as I did but tick it when you feel ready and prepared)
As far as optimising time for my last prelims in few days time is concerned, I plan to strengthen my core subjects like Polity, Economy, and revise history which is a weak area once in the upcoming week. That would mean turning all basic books' pages and trying to active recall as much as possible. Although I feel slightly under-confident with my current preparation level as I was anxious waiting for the results, receiving congratulations(which is I think a good problem to have but I keep reminding myself I have prelims coming) I hope to cover enough ground in the coming week to feel slightly better.
The week before prelims will be about PYQs of CSE and other exams of UPSC along with basic books and some CA, checking the papers which I have solved.
Feeling scared right now as there is a break in momentum but I will try my best. Because I know from experience that more often than not, these few days determine if there is a fighting chance or not.

Do spread the word about not ticking the IFoS Tick mark!
People do not realise the importance of things as long as they have it.
people ONLY realise the importance of things when they can lo longer have it - wheather it is attempts, people, relationships.

Thank you, sir. Definitely don't recommend it in the early 1-2 attempts at least if you are someone who has 6 attempts. They seem like a lot until they are not and the pressure piles up. The feeling that attempts are there can calm you to try your best without taking too much stress.
From what I have heard, it is a wonderful service and can prove to be saviour like it has for me. I only gave few months of dedicated preparation for its mains and I see myself in top 10 in the 1st attempt. Yes, the knowledge from CSE preparation did come in handy. May be I should have attempted it slightly earlier but glad I did not in the early ones. Choose wisely, everyone.
