Which is the best pen for UPSC Mains?

Have the V5 users tried V5 RT and V5 Grip? I liked them better than the OG V5 because they have a rubber grip and I have a pretty tight grip while writing.
Recently, my V5s have started dying early (they get very light much before the refill is finished). Has anyone else had that problem?
I'm thinking about switching to Schneider Pens (my Amazon delivery arrives tomorrow). I'll tell you guys how that goes.

Don't get the hype with V5 and V7. Tried both, found them to be okay. Trimax better, Linc Pentonic best.

This is blasphemy!!

@Luffy I have a Schneider Topball 811 that I'm currently trying out. The pens being delivered tomorrow are Schneider 0.6mm One Business Roller Ball.

@necromancer What's the pen between the two Uniballs (eye fine and Air) called? That's the only one I haven't tried yet. Might as well give it a go.

@AJ_ The Schneider 0.6mm was a fail. The pen is light and the writing is the smoothest ever but very thick and dark, and so may appear on the page behind it. As you can see from the squiggles below, the writing is thicker than all the pens I have (Air micro, Teramax, Eye fine, V5, V7) even the 0.7mm ones

@Luffy I couldn't find the option to buy on their site. I just found out about the existence of a 0.3mm version of the same pen on the site, but no option to buy. Moreover, it is currently unavailable on Amazon.

What's wrong with V5 except these two shortcomings?

1. Delicate nip - breaks often, specially for people with tight grip.

2. Not waterproof.

No rubber grip, fingers ache after 3 hour exams (for people with tight grip). V5 RT and V5 Grip solve this problem but they often die prematurely (even without the nib breaking).

V5 being not waterproof is the biggest drawback of that pen for me.

What if I spill water on the sheets by mistake?

What if the invigilators spill water on the sheets by mistake?

What if the paper checker spills water on the sheets by mistake?

Can't risk years of preparation just because the pen wasn't waterproof.

P. S: This is just a personal opinion. I'm usually quite optimistic , but this is TOO RISKY..

It's better to focus on things that WILL happen. With some pens your handwriting WILL be shabby. Thin pens WILL make your fingers hurt after 3 hours of intense writing. What you are talking about is not at all risky. I don't think these things have ever happened to anyone.

Do any of you remember the HIMYM episode when they're looking for the best burger in New York? If one more person tries to tell me the best pen is Trimax or Rorito imma lose my mind!

The best pen is what works for you. Some are lucky and a 5 rupee ball pen or Trimax works for them. Some are not and they spend 1000s of rupees trying out different pens just to find a pen that they're comfortable with. Just try and be a little sensitive to the situation of others.

TL;DR Everyone has tried Rorito/Trimax. Stop suggesting it again and again.
