CSE 2021: Plan / Strategy / Daily Routine

Hello 2021 aspirants. I thought it would be nice if we can share what we are doing and intend to do with one another here.

This could be a thread for discussing everything prep for 2021.

No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

Hello friends I write this with as much frustration as you can imagine a bread to have (hoti h). For the past 2 days I have relatives over/ some or the other bum-job errand to run and today seems to be no different as already I’ve been told that I have more relatives coming over. Mere studies ki band baj rahi h iss chakkar m. On top of that setting targets and not being able to meet them is leading to more anxiety, so no targets for today, will update aaj raat ko how much I got done. Also in other news, I really want to eat chole- bhature, but this clean eating nonsense thing I’m trying out is getting in the way.

More pav-er to you folks! (if you thought days of bread jokes were over, think again…)

I must tell you, Chhole Bhature are such a godsend. On 11th, I went and had them. Trust me, I could feel all the pain and stress of the exam vanishing with each bite. Please have them! :D

And don't order no, go out and eat!

Jaise songs ka thread hai.. waise hi we should have a thread for food as well. 😂

PS - I am new to Delhi. Any suggestions for chhole bhature places here would be great...

Sharma Ji ke cholay bhatooray and Nagpal ke cholay bhatooray; both near Amar Colony, Lajpat Nagar, 5 to 10 mins walk from Moolchand metro station (violet line).

I prefer Sharma Ji one because of the crunchy carrot pickle like thing they give which has a mild tangy flavour.

Also, if going to Moolchand is not possible and you stay in ORN only, can try Haldiram’s(the one  in Vision and Forum vali building), they are tasty too.

Day 81

  1. 5.30- 8.30- anki thinkers
  2. 9.00- 12.00- polity notes
  3. 12.30- 3.30- anki thinkers
  4. 4.00- 7.00- ankify IR
  5. 7.30- 9.00- 2 newspapers

I am trying this new thing with 38 hour workday with minimum sleep. And after that a deep sleep without alarm.

yesterday- very chaotic day. Spent 3 hours in searching for new mobile (shopping is always like a spiral down for me). And then talked to friends for 2 hours. could complete only thinkers part.

Was on 48 hour fasting when I read the food comments and couldn't resist 'sev ki sabzi' from friend's lunchbox.

Since past few months, I was relying on brownie or pastries to satisfy my sugar cravings, while forgetting all time great Indian sweets particularly Rasgullas and I was reminded of this sweet only when I was reading about GI tag controversy. So immediately after Prelims, had ordered Gulab Jamun, Rasgulla and Rasmalai from a local sweet shop. And wow, did it feel so heavenly. And once this gets over, I plan to buy Mysore Pak for Diwali. A small weight to pay :)

Wow. This reminds me of so many things. How in College quizzing I loved the questions about Mysore Pak being an accidental invention. How my crush once conducted a cute experiment and stuffed rasmalai syrup in paani puri ki puri in school. How I should maybe go to Delhi for at least eating Paan flavoured kulfi. How during 12th class, i ate choco truffles from mobile bakeries but got tired of these fancy sweets even as they sold like 'hot cakes' in college cafes. Also, where do you plan to get authentic mysore pak from ?

Karnataka Bhavan has really good Mysore pak

Yesterday wrote the optional test. It was voluntary torture.

Also wrote the AWFG entrance. I knew ki bas aivi likhna hai. There's no point in getting a top 100 rank as being an MGP student, I'll get discount anyways. Yet the perfectionist in me couldn't resist googling everything I could to make my answer a bit better. Wasted a couple of hours on that. Didn't do anything else

Today starts a new week. I'll try to do Modern Algebra as much as possible today (maybe finish groups) + try to complete one rough reading of Society. Plus newspaper, as always.

Cools, the real reboot begins tomorrow.

@Celeborn  maths test from tomorrow itself. _/\_ I still have inertia for physics tests, not for gs though.

Inertia toh bahut mujhe bhi tha. Revise toh kuch khaas kiya nhi. But what to do.. Coaching wale start tests as soon as possible.

Btw where are you doing physics tests from? DIAS?

Hey,

Does anyone have experience / review about forum’s current affair classes?

I’ve been trying to do it from compilations since two years but could never read a bulk of content at the end of every month, so my prep has always been inconsistent. I’ve avoided making notes from newspapers directly as everyone says it becomes bulky.

Any inputs on how to cover news decently / whether my perspective towards monthlies needs to be changed would really help

thankss!

P.s I’m open to unlearning and relearning any approach for current

Lol yes, too many tests in ims.

Yes, DIAS only. But I might skip the test series and attempt 2010-2020 papers as the practice tests. Since the only objective of test series in our case is completing in 3hours. Questions are anyways repeated over the years.

I've read homo deus. It has a lot of fodder material for science and technology based essays..

Quite a well written book.

@sjerngal @Rashmirathi  can you both please share if you make any pointers out of them? xD

I read sapiens till 50-60pages 3 years back, even that small portion had really good fodder points.
