No one method fits all but to see the plans and progress made by fellow aspirants might help with the finer details of preparation and also keep one on track.

I had started posting my daily targets here awhile back for mains'21. But I also asked myself what if everything that I put in, in those 120 minutes on 10th October, were not enough. So it became a case of identifying a lost cause vs a glimmer of hope. Turns out it was not enough.
I have realized the importance of three things:
- showing up everyday
- only controlling what you can and not bothering with the rest
- hard work
Down the line I started to hope that I wouldn't clear because I was sitting ducks wrt mains prep. Failing prelims is the best thing that's possible (seeing the sunny side you see), so I don't fall into the 'dreaded cycle'.
So it's time to migrate to the other post for '22 and show up there everyday for the battles.
To everyone who made it: give it your all not because this is a golden chance (well that is obvious) but for the single reason that no one would ever wanna go through the prelims cycle again.

Padhte sab hain.. But how many revise it properly and how many times???
Ask this question to yourself..
Did you prepare medieval history?? If yes, how many times?.. Same goes for ancient and art and culture as well.
Edit: this is a very personal opinion. I firmly believe that I cleared prelims because I did more than half of the history que correct.. And that was 20% luck (by luck I mean peripheral knowledge) and 80% basic books knowledge. People usually say that there is low cost benefit analysis in ancient medeival and art and culture, it is true also .. But I also believe that majority of serious candidates will score equal marks in main subjects like polity, economic and other main subjects... The game changer will be history..
Atleast it was in my case..
Take this opinion with a pinch of salt though.!!
@D503 take mgp blindly. The quality of questions is supremely rigorous and they force you to think in multiple ways during the exam mode. Not really simple as compared to some other popular test series. Also, the solutions provided are pretty comprehensive.No clue about OnlyIAS. Some questions from their samples look decent, but rest no idea.

The quality of questions, model answers and post test discussions in forum are much higher than others i have seen
