CSE 2022: Plan/ Strategy/ Daily Routine

This is an everything thread for all stuff 2022. You can post your daily goals, end-of-the-day updates, weekly targets or any weird thing you use to measure your progress. You can put into words & post the soul-sucking sadness that is threatening to devour you & your productivity. You can write what made your day & let others experience the happiness too, at least vicariously. This is a thread to pick each other up. This is a thread to keep each other accountable. This is a no-judgement zone.

--------

“This is one more piece of advice I have for you: don't get impatient. Even if things are so tangled up you can't do anything, don't get desperate or blow a fuse and start yanking on one particular thread before it's ready to come undone. You have to realize it's going to be a long process and that you'll work on things slowly, one at a time.”

Very few days left for SFG (and hence prelims prep) to begin. Need to put in a lot of effort over the next 20-25 days. Hopefully there are no externalities that'll affect the study sessions. Fingers crossed.

Targets:

  • Finish Real Analysis
  • NGOs, SHGs, Pressure Groups
  • Finish Health

Have been having lots of bad days recently. Really appreciate everyone who nudges me on the app. Let's keep it going. All the best people :)

Could only finish Real Analysis. Other targets repeat.

Targets:

  • Finish Modern Algebra
  • NGOs, SHGs, Pressure Groups
  • Finish Health

Finished Modern Algebra, almost finished Health.

Targets:

  • Selected parts of Complex Analysis, NA & CP
  • NGOs, SHGs & Pressure Groups
  • RPA
  • Remaining tidbits to be test ready

Still far away from the November productivity. Hopefully will pick up the momentum in the coming week.

Today has been almost like a null day but whatever I've done is done now. Going to give tests tomorrow and get back in the groove.

Targets:

  • Maths Test
  • GS Test
  • Maths Test Analysis (Try to finish)

I did a little bit of maths in the morning, gave both the tests and have been too tired since then to do anything else. Going to do a little bit of essay revision before I go sleep.

Targets:

  • Finish Maths Test Analysis
  • Finish GS Test Analysis
  • Essay Prep OR Miscellaneous math topics

Today was better than the last few days, wishing everyone luck for the week ahead!

Could only do half of GS Test analysis. Will finish it tomorrow. Rest, done.

Targets:

  • Maths Paper 2 Revision
  • Finish GS Test Analysis
  • Finish Essay Prep

@Wordsmithyy I haven't written any mains so take what I say with a pinch of salt. If you are giving your attempt in 2022 then you might not have enough time to focus on mains since everyone suggests that we need to give 4-5 months for prelims. You can always shift to Delhi post prelims, a lot of people do it to get the exam like environment :)

Thanks ya! Failing prelims in 2021 can't take this risk of writing mains test in Jan Feb i guess you are right.

Failing in prelims gave me a good jolt. That shame I felt on the night of October 10th after I tallied my answers with answer keys, it had some good utility. But that shame is fading away and I miss it.

Last two months weren't bad but they weren't great either. But then, when I set such unrealistic targets, I think nothing will ever be great enough. A lot more could have been done but the past is like that google doc for which you have no editing rights, only have viewing rights. And even the data you are allowed to view is being corrupted every single second.

I have been sick for the last few days with suboptimal productivity irking me like a think blanket with thousand holes on a cold night. Used it as an excuse to read some other stuff. This also gives a good completion point to the first phase of my 2022 attempt.

For the next two months, I am trying to mix pre and mains. PSIR has to be done, tests to be given including some backlog tests, ethics & GS FLTs. In addition, one prelims revision of core subjects & solving any pending prelims tests. That should be the second phase.

To declutter the mind, I must first declutter my physical space. So, will do a little safai, especially of my desk which is suffering under the weight of everything I have studied in the past two months. Like, its some kind of archeological thing. The top-most layer of the books tell you what I have studying recently. The bottom most books are those that I was studying sometime in the last few months but just didn't care enough to revise.

Have been trying to stay away from telegram-- my final frontier of distractions. The mann (the mind) has been less chanchal (turbulent or hyperactive) & as the old bollywood song goes, less random. Might as well throw away my phone in the dustbin. 2022 me padhai ke siva karna hi kya hai?

New beginnings :)

Sounds familiar 😑

Everyone's using Trimax, pilot and rorito for mains answer writing, while I am just very much comfortable in Rs 3 use and throw pen :/

What's up with this trimax/pilot thing people? Am I missing on something?

I have been a great fan of goldex delta(use and throw type pen). Lately however I started using V7 initially it was tough fixing grip and finding speed but slowly my hand got used to it.

The thing is V7 has dark impression and curves of letter are clear also there is consistency in flow throughout the paper.

Use and throw type pen vary in shade. Starts lighter grows darker then again light.

In the conclusion, content is the king types of pen hardly matters.

That's exactly me, that's how I even define my pens. My pens don't have name or company, they are just 3 rupaye wale pen.

My reasons for using them have been : They are very very smooth and slim. I have difficulty in writing with pens which are way too thick like V7 and hence 3 rupaye wale pen.

Yes! That's why I am always confused with this whole discussions over pen. Content is the king..!

They say content is king, Revision is queen, and Pens are soldiers. Better the rulers, better the soldier performs.

(However V5 best hai xD, koi acha suggestion ho toh bata sakte ho :p)
