@D503 I can bet my life that the masses were not virtuous when Gandhi or Buddha were teaching their lessons or when Prabhu Ram walked on the earth. I can bet my life that the masses are not virtuous today. It's the societal taboos & fear of stick that keeps them in check. The king or state have to be virtuous for their own sake. Sri Krishna does not care about the masses watching Arjun, he cares about keeping the virtue intact and going within their lineage, he does not want to see decline in the Kshatriya/Master morality. Arjun is exhorted to fight so that the slave morality does not creep into his lineage/progeny. Arjun is exhorted to fight because it's a kingly trait. Arjun is not a gladiator fighting for mass spectacle.
it's a Hobbes vs Locke debate. I prefer to take the lockean view of state of nature :p it was never my point taht people are completely virtuous. But that doesn't mean we stop preaching virtues.

Hi everyone,
Coming back to forum for accountability after a long time. I hope I stay. I'll be studying for two things for the next eight months—UPSC prelims & RBI Grade B (Both Phase I & Phase II).
In my last attempt, I decided to write RBI after getting very low marks in my UPSC prelims mock tests. It was supposed to be a backup. I managed to do well but I could not clear the sectional cutoff for Quant. In UPSC too, I was fairly confident of getting to write Mains after tallying my answers with coaching answer keys but did not find my name in the list. Studied for NABARD for two months after that but could not give my best. I just could not put in the hours. The result for NABARD phase 1 isn't out but I am, most probably, not going to make it. So, I need to start studying for 2023 with a view to do good in RBI as well as UPSC prelims.
I want to complete studying the Finance & Management paper of RBI, cover the current affairs backlog for both RBI & UPSC & do one revision of LR & Quant in the month of October. In November, I want to complete the ESI portion of RBI & topics of UPSC prelims that I am particularly week at—Geography, Ecology, Science Basics & some parts of environment. After that, I can focus more of my time at prelims alone. So, that's the plan for now.
I'll start posting my targets from tomorrow.
Yay! Welcome back my friend! ❤️

@LetsGetThisBread Please tell me more about your planner because I really need one. Excel sheets aren't helping😅

So I have wasted a day giving a send off to my dear-est friend today.I always expected@D503 to light the fireworks. Now I have an opinion and that isn't a favourite amongst guys studying for an exam that is oriented towards Humanities.
So, I was being taught Hohfeld's theory by my favourite ma'am(Anju Vali Tikoo ma'am). So ma'am did posit a question before all of us in the due course of teaching the topic. The question was-What came first, Claims or Power?
She did explain the query superlatively. But, I would try to introduce that aspect in the debate sparked by my bhai@D503.So, Tyagis tried to bully and so did all the nincompoops who don't think twice before challenging the authority of the State.
And, I am super satisfied that State is being Retributive when its authority is jeopardised. State can reform what can be moderated. But, who will moderate the devilish tendencies of individuals trying to push girls into flesh trade. Or, for that matter trying to illegally grab properties and if restrained, then resorting to bullying.
Bulldozers aren't always the solution but they do send a message and a relevant one. The message that the State ain't a Soft State anymore. Furthermore, bulldozing ain't a lasting solution and I agree here. But, what it leads to is a general impression of state coming after you, for the grave wrongs you commit. This consequentially leads to fear and helps in establishing rule of law. Imagine raping a girl and a reformative system rewarding one with life skill courses in jail.
Also, the formation of governments is duly in the hands of the people of the country. And, in the process, they are entitled to Administraive Discretion, where bullying the untamed is a good option in some instances.
To conclude from where I started, there ain't any Claims sans Power. What we as citizens will demand if the idea of an imposing state itself is watered down.
@LetsGetThisBread Jaise teacher, vaise unke bacche.
Guys idhar virtuous batein kar rahi hai ye@Morticia . Vaise she called me Perk for being as thin as that wafer cum chocolate is.
@Pepethefrog Tumhe kyon cancel karna.Especially, after thatblife saving suggestion of using less amount of detergent
Ab toh@nerdfighter bhi aa gya. Tum kaha ho@Radhika25A. Will you gatecrash 2024 ka thread?
Vaise, welcome@nerdfighter bro. I also kinda missed you. I contemplated asking for your continued absence but then backed off.
Kal padte hain. Also, Vikram Vedha is shitty, except for Hrithik Roshan's presence.

I’ve just created a notebook on GoodNotes. I have a monthly spread basically by diving a page into half by drawing a vertical and writing down my to do list on it. I also have a yearly where I write out broad goals for the month ahead. Great advantage is that I can create a lot of highlighter and pen colours and essentially I use it as an excuse to keep me motivated to complete my goals 😂
