Guys, Essay Paper is over. How was it?
yar but in all seriousness, this is so not done. what if someone actually doesnt understand hindi??That can happen. Last year in prelims ->Vijaynagar "Soothsaying" question I got wrong because , I can't read hindi version where it mentioned "Bhavishyavani".
In an exam where 1 mark determine many ranks and in out of prelims list ->this is a genuine concern.
Few years ago, there was this mains gs1 question "cryosphere "question. Many didnt know what cryosphere was. But those who read hindi version addressed that mains question effectively.
bhai main kya bolu. its absolutely disgusting. infact main hindi nai padha tha essay chose karte time. ye topic immediately samajh aa gaya. but agar main ise choose karta without knowing hindi tab toh pakka phas jata main. not because i dont know hindi but because of applying too much mind.
@Capedcrusader1chill. Looking like there is communication gap. I am not arguing with you . I thought u mentioned that not knowing hindi can be disadvantage in previous comment. I was supporting your comment by giving example.

There is no difference in hindi, non hindi people in terms of thought process or writing in English.
translation lag is always there. however quantum of lag varies

the fact that language barrier is helping a set of aspirants to decode the demand of essay much better than other set of aspirants is disgusting
As a Non hindi person, I have clear disadvantage with the exam.@deepakY aaapko hindi translation ek baar padh lena chahiye tha.
I got this lesson from my father. He said that you might attempt the paper in English but you will always be more comfortable with hindi. so if you ever get stuck in understanding the question, try reading hindi version and you may understand the core demand of the question. very nice lesson.
Chalo DMK ko approach karte hein. Kuch Hal niklega.
ab toh waise bhi hindi hi chalegi so.. kahin jao

people have problem with a sign of station mentioned in hinthi? why?
Hindi has equal respect as other languages. But can a state of up or bihar has station name in Tamil or Telugu. The answer is no. So why in south. The fight is for equality, not hatred against language. Respect is a two way street.
Why will bihar and up have signboards of southern languages
how many South Indians live there
Leave bhai it’s all about accommodation
Same argument can be against hindi imposition in south.How many north Indians live in south. What's the utility of hindi sign board. You expect south people to learn hindi for accommodation, then north Indians can learn any south languages for sure. I hope you do.

although i didn't attempt that scientific man, romantic man question, I would love to have insights for this essay from the peers who attempted this....kaafi tough lag raha tha ye essay, proper example hi samajh nhi aa the the...read somewhere that Enlightenment is more associated with natural science while romanticism is more closely linked with arts and humanities. aise me toh ye quote humanities ko low pedestal pe rakh raha aur natural science ko high pedestal par...
scientific mean is self explanatory. but its not just man and its not just scientific. it about rationality and logic. and its about countries and leadership being open minded. romanticism is about sensationalisation and being driven by emotions. it has to do with setting goals based on delusions not founded on any rational basis.
russia's invasion on ukraine is based on restoring a lost territory in order to re-establish former ussr.this is bizzare and driven by romantic mindset.
however romanticism is also needed. it provides eenergy for action. eg elon musk going to mars. he wishes to colonize it.
we need to reconcile the two as both are needed. humans have limitless abilities and his thought process is very complex as it is most evolved.

I am north indian, working in South India.. ye debate na khatam hona. They are very proud of their languages and all languages are classical. So they think it's their right to protect.
They think that incursion of Hindi is danger to their own language which is in main stream for 1000s of years.
They take Hindi and southern classical language debate as cultural strife.
Why should I learn ? Ye Hindi wala bolta south me jake.. and south wale to bol hi rahe why should I learn Hindi.. lol
Hindi is just an another language.. India is similar to EU.. vaha bhi languages ka chiwda hai. Pakistan me lelo.. bahuto ko Urdu na ati . I stayed in middle East.. bahut to Punjabi bolte.. Urdu na ati
