For 2022 , IRMS (150 seats) will be part of CSE; as it was mentioned before prelims.

Before prelims a govt document said 150 seats of IRMS will be selected through CSE 2022. That's why number of seats crossed 1000 in CSE 2022.

@Kenshein Your apprehensions are justified.If the requirements of the service are specialised, this year recruited candidates  will look abusrd as the first batch . I am also feeling that this may be the “technical reasons “ of result delay   every insider is talking about .

But the legal ,if not legal , political fallout of dropping these seats will be heavy for goverrnment this year .Also the language of the notification makes it clear “next  year onwards “ .So IRMS will be retained this year thinking logically.

Or may be .This year they prefer engg optional to irms service.( through some scaling).

Can it be the reason for delay of result?  ( upsc might be waiting for some clarification from dopt).

I think this was the main issue behind delay in result. They had to decide how many candidates have to be called for interview 8×× 2.5 or 1011×2.5.

All these scaling issue as raised by insiders was a hoax.

Not this document. The cse 2022 advertisement ( irms is not mentioned in that) published in Feb 2022. ( 861 vacancies wala mein)
