Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.
@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?
This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.
Cinema halls ll be opened in aug . It is more riskier than conducting exam as per my assesment .. same hall every day . Corona ll thribe in a AC confined space for months . If govt is prepared for that then why wld they stop upsc . So prelim is on oct 4 .
Regarding cinema halls, malls, etc people have the liberty of decision-making. They can choose to stay home and not risk themselves. On the other hand, people do not have the same liberty with exams, specially those who are lingering around their final attempts.
IMO, even though cinema halls will be opened, there won't be much gathering there as people are aware now.
Covid cases are falling in delhi drastically. I guess creating red zones helps a lot. Since last 2 month Arogya Setu used to show 10 cases in 500m and 100+ in 1 Km which is down to 5 and 70 now.
All states below Tropic of Cancer are facing the Covid burden now including Bihar.
Testing has been really aggressive in Delhi. Government is pushing hard for it. Healthcare workers are working actively doing door-to-door covid checks in my area. Plus, I think Delhi has the best health care infrastructure in the country with large no. of hospitals, health centres and workforce. No wonder why it has the best recovery rate too.

I just wonder, if it's happening on Oct 4, and someone got COVID positive in last week of September or first week of October and if it's his/her last attempt due to age restriction or whatever, what would he/she do?
It's a very probable case, unless UPSC comes out and makes an announcement about people, who might not be able to give exam on October 4, it's very unrealistic of it happening on October 4.
