[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

last yr antibody max coaching gave people with multiple diseases as correct but it was not... so UPSC doesn't blindly follow d option ... verbatims are always correct.

I had marked it 2 and 3 and was dead sure as this is where my expertise lies. I knew multiple diseases and AMR has no link.

I doubt the answers provided by almost all the institutes of the question about minimum number of days the Parliament is required to meet.

The constitution does mention that there should'nt be more than 6 months gap between each session, and that does imply that minimum number should be 2. Idk why anybody is not discussing about this.

@Equalizer yeah... all other r ok I guess from my experience.

@curiousflaneur I made representation for that. I know i thought the same thing... aksed for both options to be correct. but its from verbatim.

@Dwara I am pretty sure we are correct, it's in the constitution.

Because ultimately to attempt the questions of polity, one must refer to the constitution for clarity. We can't get answers if some news article or website mention it verbatim.

@curiousflaneur but in general the statement is correct... prof didn't think about it properly that this meaning is also possible, they just copy-paste...

@Dwara can be a trick question too, if one hasn't read the constitution properly.

what we require is a good lawyer who can force UPSC to declare answer key. what kind of transparency is this. all major exams jee neet even declare omr, this exam makes bureaucrats and they hide under secrecy which they also do after they become one.

they have zero respect for people who prepare, prime of their life is destroyed and all the anxiety and BP killed students...

We should really look for a good lawyer.

We extrapolate, and thus UPSC key has 5 different answers than coaching key in recent years. Obviously we extrapolate

Article 85(1) of the Constitution empowers the President tosummon each House of Parliament to meet at such time and placeas he thinks fit, but six months shall not intervene between itslast sitting in one Session and the date appointed for its firstsitting in the next Session. [Notwithstanding outer limit laid downin article 85, the Parliament may have to be called before 31 Marchin order to pass at least a Vote on Account to carry on theadministration as no money can be withdrawn from theConsolidated Fund of India except under appropriation madeby law passed in accordance with article 114(3). Besides, articles352(4 &8), article 356(3) and article 360(2)(c) lay down certaintime limits for summoning the Houses of Parliament.] ThePresident exercises the power to summon the Houses on therecommendation of the Prime Minister or the Cabinet.Normally, three Sessions, namely the Budget, Monsoon andWinter Sessions, are held in a calendar year. The question ofhaving more or less fixed dates for the commencement of thethree Sessions was considered by the General Purpose Committeeof the Lok Sabha at their sitting held on 22 April, 1955, and theyrecommended the following time-table for the three Sessions:

I hope it answers your question.

@rafael as far as i can see, there is no ambiguity. it's in constitution as well as in laxmikant. if however for some reasons, people are discussing about the news article where it's mentioning that parliament should have some minimum no. of working days, they are not talking about the lowest,  that issue is about good governance and competent legislature, but according to statute, the lowest number that cpuld get is two. period.
