[Results] Prelims 2020 Over - Gearing for 2021

Because of the corona virus issue? If it does not happen then worst affected will be people whose interview is stuck, around 600-700 such people I think are yet to appear for their interview.

@neyawn sir and others, what is your take?

This is the official Thread for discussion of Prelims Postponement, Please do not create new threads for the same.

In Aadhaar question Statement 4 is wrong. Aadhaar Act does not mention that aadhaar is mandatory to get benefits from CFI. It simply says that that the gov. may register.

Chapter 3 Point 7

The Central Government or, as the case may be, the State Government may, for the purpose of establishing identity of an individual as a condition for receipt of a subsidy, benefit or service for which the expenditure is incurred from, or the receipt therefrom forms part of, the Consolidated Fund of India, require that such individual undergo authentication, or furnish proof of possession of Aadhaar number or in the case of an individual to whom no Aadhaar number has been assigned, such individual makes an application for enrolment: Provided that if an Aadhaar number is not assigned to an individual, the individual shall be offered alternate and viable means of identification for delivery of the subsidy, benefit or service.

I am finding conflicting reports on whether aadhaar is mandatory for insurance or not. Maybe some individual working in the insurance sector may enlighten. But if this option is also wrong than I am afraid the entire question is wrong. One should than send representation.

We love UPSC for its Unpredictable nature but looks like in its undeclared war against coaching Institutes , aspirants are made to bear the brunt ... it all started in 2017 with its ambiguous choices and dubious questions , since then UPSC doesn't seem to budge ... Candidates scoring above 110 might just be safe this year , but this element of 40 Days uncertainty that seeps in post preliminary stage will time and again haunt us unless UPSC understands what kind of precedent that it has set by framing such questions .... All this calls for more than Representation window which is just symbolism ....

@mickeyviru actually , if we start making Life Insurance policy without Aadhar . How we will accertain that person is alive?
Just yesterday we had discussion that people making policies of dead and later  submitting claims.
Exact nitty gritty I dont know. BUT , I ticked only 3... fund from CFI is very vague compared to aadhar mandatory of insurance ...
As there are few " if and but " for mandatory aadhar compared to " If and But"  for CFI wala statement.

@Equalizer bhai agar 10 questions me D maar diye tukke me or usme 4 bhi sahi nikle to net score +4 hi rahega. So is hisab se cutoff pe fark padta hai har saal. Ab general or obc wale 80+ question attempt karte Hain so get safe score agar unke attempt Kam Hain or koi logic nahi baith raha h to they go with either D or eliminate extreme words statements. Net score plus me hi rahega. I have seen this type of habbit in my friends. He scored 114 this time, last year 108 by using this trick.

So whole qus seems wrong .Insurance sells people dnt search fr SC instruction.. on ground level they might be asking fr adhar fr new policy.. I wld have sent representation but exhusted my option in nalsa qus . U send it or ask a frnd to do it who u know .

@Challenger_Deep read the section again carefully, it clearly provides for aadhar as a criteria for availing benefits, and if you dont have one then one must get enrolled for aadhar and till the time you dont have aadhar no. you need to have an alternate identity proof.
Here aadhar should be treated as a criteria and not only as an identity proof. so basically it is
aadhar---- yes---- avail benefit
aadhar --- no--- enrol for it and provide alternate identity--- avail benefit--- and after some time you will have aadhar no and you will be in first category

I'm scoring above 110 this year, even I am scared of UPSC official answer keys.

Last year my score ranged from 93, 96 and max was 99, with VisionIAS as the main source. My score is around 90 according to the official answer key for CSE 2019. There's a considerable difference. With Mrunal's video on how different institutes have at least 3-4 differences with official answer key. That's a difference of around 9 marks, which can make or break your chances.

With all these expectations, I think I'll prepare for the mains, just to realize that my name is not there. I have that fear, the paranoia.

But yeah, on the other hand, I think I have gotten a safe score, and all this paranoia is unjustified.

Now there is no other option, except put your head down and prepare for mains. Jai Hind.

Bro, first read this act  THE AADHAAR (TARGETED DELIVERY OF FINANCIAL AND OTHER SUBSIDIES, BENEFITS AND SERVICES) ACT, 2016and then read the SC judgement
