Mains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread
Now that 1 week is over, it is time to shift focus to Mains. With barely 103 days left there is no time to waste.
@hirockyrocks7101questions related to industry, mass transport, ecosystem etc. were almost similar for everyone as it seemed more GS3 type content, compared to earlier years where specific geo questions like Air mass were asked. I meant that only.

I think this scheme is followed in vision ias and not in cse. For name sake they mostly award 0 marks or half but certainly not 2 or 3 marks...In good answer they award very liberally

I wrote about shah bano case, nrc, vote bank politics...not much...found the question a trap, had to walk a tightrope, margin of error was less

@LonewolfI cannot comment bhai but anything controversial in this answer may not work in our favour in this question I guess. Rest I personally feel that you could've avoided writing about vande Mataram as it's ones personal choice whether to sing it or not and one community can't force it on another.
@ajit_kdI actually agree with you on this. What I meant was, we need to answer only what is asked. Of course my appeal isn't to write excessively technical answers(not even in optionals). Yes, broad answers but strictly what is asked.

1st 20% of 15 is 3. I am not contradicting anybodys statement, I am just putting my opinion. Moreover marking is not static but dynamic, what u said may be correct in past, my opinion is based on my personal experience. When cut off is around 44%, expecting 20% marks in name sake answer is over optimism IMO.
@dr-ahmednaaz8567Namesakeness varies from 10% to 20% in an answer. 0 marks are not given in any answer because some relevance is there even in namesake answers, even 0.5 marks in a 10 marker becomes 1 mark when rounded off in total.

@pra7009055There is no correlation between what people write here and what in exam.Now suppose I see vision model answers and then post here my answers will be awesome.Majority of people tend to exaggerate their answers on forum.The answers in actual paper would be pretty less.I am telling this from experience.Even when I wrote my last mains I saw people posting awesome answers here,I got demotivated and reduced my expected marks.Later when results came my so called average answers got me better marks than so called toppers here.
So wait for the results.Many of the so called toppers here will not be in the list,and many of the so called unknown dark horses with so called average answers will be there.
@pra7009055I read comments on a page on insights(the page where insights posted paper 3 on gs this year).
A girl was advising people how to write awesome answers,draw diagrams,use colours etc.People started praising her,started calling her maam,and started asking for advice from her.
Later I realized she has'nt even given the exam.
For some praise on social media is like opium for masses.They are only here to downgradeothers.Sodon't get affected by what people are saying or writing here or on social media.
The best judge is urself.The feeling that u have after attempting the exam is the most legitimate.Agar wo feeling bol rahi hai paper accha hua hai to selection hoga ,logon ko kuch bhi bolne do
