@bevancomLegitimacy of feeling after exam and its positive correlation with actual results can be questioned; for I have seen many being quite confident and happy after mains but it doesnt necessarily translate into good marks or selection.

@Yug_ the secret here is how honest we r with ourselves.I have also seen such people but they r those who are'nt honest with themselves.I know people who keep explaining to themselves they have finished the course and only tell their good things to others and not their failures.
So yes u r right but I believe if one is honest with oneself then that feeling of legitimacy is right

@Yug_ it wil translate if u hve gone beyond your capacity during mains preparation phase..that is going beyond limits during preparation...nahi toh it can be questionable as u say

@Yug_ i agree with you on this. There are times we expect too much from ourselves and end up self bashing. Or think too high of what we wrote.
There are instances in my previous attempts, where papers which i felt i nailed (right after the exam) ended up being disasters and vice-versa.

Gut feeling post exam, however honest it may be, cant be an ideal indicator.

@bevancom
Along with honesty preparation level is also important. We evaluate our performance relative to our expectation and level of knowledge. A good answer for me may be below avg answer for others...

@bevancomsaid inMains 2019 Preparation and Discussion Thread:

@pra7009055I read comments on a page on insights(the page where insights posted paper 3 on gs this year).
A girl was advising people how to write awesome answers,draw diagrams,use colours etc.People started praising her,started calling her maam,and started asking for advice from her.
Later I realized she has'nt even given the exam.
For some praise on social media is like opium for masses.They are only here to downgradeothers.Sodon't get affected by what people are saying or writing here or on social media.
The best judge is urself.The feeling that u have after attempting the exam is the most legitimate.Agar wo feeling bol rahi hai paper accha hua hai to selection hoga ,logon ko kuch bhi bolne do

Kabhi quora aao??

@utkarsh_mishraYes I did.. I observed their high scores flattened near 110. I couldn't understand their marking pattern in few tests I gave.

@dr-ahmednaaz8567yeah I agree with u.but this holds more for new aspirants.Anyone who has written mains earlier and got decent marks know what upsc kind of expects from answers (can be deduced if one gets good marks in a paper).So old aspirants feeling after doing the exam is generally right as@Champakchampaksaid who I believe is in service

I have hcs interview in this month and I fuckin hate psc interviews. I like bank interviews, they are short max 15 min and don't ask difficult questions.
