@dr-ahmednaaz8567That is not the exact bias, what you quoted. I wrote this essay. Started with a story on evolution of the Indian Mirror from a pamphlet to a daily newspaper, rounding off by showing how the media, print, audio and video built Indian democracy. Then gave back story to the topic with recent examples, like those of fake news paid news and how no one asks the important questions in journalism without the tinge of ideology, and then moved on to identifying certain key characteristics of Indian democracy and how a biased media threatens them and how a strong media would galvanize it into a sturdier one. Put 2 quotes too if I remember correctly. Couldn't actually finish well because I had cut one extra page by mistake?

I wrote how media can be used by enemies to conduct psy-ops on India. Is this point more relevant for compromised media and not biased media?

Out of box topic select karne ke chakkar mein galti ho jaati hai

out of box ke chakkar mai aisi lag gyi ki essay ke naam se bhi darr lgne lga hai… I felt in part B the essays were quite conventional and seemingly easy except south Asian society one..so I took the risk of writing that and realized midway that I dont have enough points and had to beat around the bush.
last year 124 tha, is bar utna hi mil jaye tab bhi I would be happy

A relative of mine gave mains in 2017, he wrote one essay in 6 pages, another in 5. He has an elbow problem so cannot right fast so restricts himself to few pages. But he spent initial 1 hour in brainstorming those 6 pages each essay. He got 146. Could not get selected due to horrible marks in GS and optional as he was not able to complete paper. But those 146 marks speak a lot about how essays are evaluated

But if demand is not met it can land u up in trouble ..
Hope u get top marks...

Due this fear i chose the most common topic of health n education.. so though not high but get avg marks at least?

@HaeckelMujhe lagta hai content out of the box hona chahiye jo normal topics mei bhi ho sakta hai. Picking an out of the box topic thoda tricky hota hai in essays. I wrote on biased media but I don't know why people are considering it out of the box. So much to write - media bias against the poor, women, lower castes, disabled, LGBTQ, climate change and media, murdochization. How all this threatens the democratic fabric.

@atuljiLol ok I wrote this one. I dont remember exact points but i remember the dimensions i covered.

  1. Intro: Historical example
  2. Factors/why best for individual is not good for society. Concluded this by saying that its mainly because the individual and societal goals are not matching
  3. How to align individual and societal goals
  4. is best for individual always bad for society ?

I expanded the question because I felt individual could mean person or a nation's action on global society, or an MNCs action causing disruption to whole economy.

Everywhere I tried to give examples. Dont remember any now. Didn't use quotes but used side headings. Have no idea whether this is the right approach or not.

@atuljiwrote this one..started with Sartre 'hell is the other people'. Why he said that....tried to give context. Now I'm feeling it might sound too extreme. And then following main themes:

  1. Historical perspective: individual...Galileo, Socrates and fate they met.
  2. Currently, women rights, sabarimala etc. LGBTQ rights. Where social norms and individual best are antithetical.
  3. Wrote on individual- potential etc.
  4. Social best not necessarily against individual.
  5. How can both be aligned... by adhering to constitutional morality etc.
Don't remember what I wrote exactly but included these things. Could have concluded better. Also, might have been repetitive at times. Considering avg or below avg in previous attempts, not expecting much.

Second one on AI. Intro was ready. Had to conclude in rush.

@DipDid u mention deontology and Right based approach in ethical aspects?

@atulji

  1. Started with anecdote of Hitler... he considered that whatever is good for him is also good for society. But Gandhi emancipated all sections of society in his ideology...

  2. Best for an individual is not necessarily best for the society
... this best for individual may lead to dictatorship.
Naxalism, Maoism and terrorism are examples of this. Naxals consider their ideology as best for society. ISIS chief considers that whatever is best according to him as individual will be best for society. But, this has led to mass killing of innocents and disturbance in peace.
This is also anti democratic as the democracy provides for Right and participation of all sections of society.

  3. Best of society may not be best for an individual
For long, LGBTQ community was being opressed by society at large for violation Of societal norms. In sabarimala tmple too, women of particular age group are denied entry for protection of societal norms. Right to privacy is another step by supreme court to protect individual rights. Rights of minorities should not be subjected to whims and fancies of majority.

Conclusion - values of individual and values of society should reinforce each other. While guaranteeing rights to individual, our constitution has also provided for fundamental duties towards society. Leaders should go for Gandhian way of emancipation of society at large than adhering to Hitler way of imposing his will on society. There should be golden mean of protecting the best for society while also ensuring the best for the individual.

@vvvikas0078212avoided deontological approach as its technical term of ethics. The evaluator may or may not be aware of it.

Hi All. Want to discuss a strange mistake i did.
In the front page of QCA sheet, there are two places where a candidate is supposed to fill his/her details. In the top, one has to fill medium (English/others) and name of the exam. In the middle, roll no. and medium of exam is supposed to be filled.
Due to nervousness (this being my first mains), I filled name of the exam and medium in both the areas.
So basically I didn't write my roll no. in my essay booklet ..?
Will my sheet get evaluated ? Really concerned about it.

I didn't give many examples ... talked about socialization then how evolved social control to control deviant individuals as society didn't consider best for itself what is best for an individual. Then historical evolution of society and old n modern law system to punish individuals...then gave a biological analogy of individual as cells and society as body hence society's good always comes first..then i explained why interests of both society and individual are actually not opposed but complementary concluded on these terms.
Anyone else thinks i have fucked up??
