i dont remember or dont want to. broadly my essay revolved around state in india not being an organic institution and people owe allegiance to their cultural identities much more than state. this manifests in subregional aspirations like jaliikattu, failure in state formation process like in srilanka, Afghanistan.

Leave this essay discussion buddies, focus on result date info. Anyone got any credible information apart from vajiram checking copies???

@foxmulder
Good attempt. However what I mentioned is also bias. IMO one had to also write about bias in the functioning of media not in its reporting. It's bias in choosing the news itself. It is just one dimension.

Having spent long time in this process.. these days I'm praying God only one thing..
If I clear mains..be it with good margin.
Or else ..just stop me at this point.. I'll grieve for sometime. Then I'll make peace with myself that this is not my cup of tea and move on with my life.

Last year I cleared mains with so thin a margin that even if had got a 200 in interview I wouldn't be in the list. My entire efforts for interview is sheer waste of time and energy. Post result I didnt get time to make any significant tweaks in my prep. And result was similar performance in mains as last year. It's so frustrating.?

exactly. i know how it feels. best thing is to either fail completely in prelims itself so that you could revise your prep plan or clear the exam with flying colors. no in between this. we do not get enough time to to make necessary changes after failing in final result.

@Valar_morghulisI personally think that 300+ marks in optional is the solution to all our problems. Even with mishap in gs.

10-15 marks less in each paper is just a single mark less in each question. that can be improved with proper techniques.

@Jharsugudayes..but new techniques require practice and time , since we are hardwired to certain writing style.

After my previous mains..I chilled out for 2 months..and after mains result it's all interview. After final result I'm left with 2 months gap...so prepared only pre..and post pre..since there is a big 8 month gap ..I became gazini and forgot everything including optional.

So between pre and mains..I could only revise and practice some answer writing. But there isn't much I could improve over my earlier attempts. I have to see how it turns out this time. I still remember telling my parents post exam that everything went like last mains only ...I don't know what I did in last one year.?

Anyways I personally feel... Getting interview call can be a huge confidence booster initially.. But if it's with very slight margin..(like less than 5 marks ).. then things get tricky in Long run?

After so much discussion on each paper ..we should make a list of toppers among Forum members.
Guess top 3 ..

@Dijkstrain retrospect, i thought it was the best topic outta the four in section b. One could have written a very relevant essay with numerous contemporary examples in that essay. Plus, historical juxtaposition (from fat bipan chandra's chapter on media's role in national movement) bhi kaafi achcha dimension deta essay ko. Regret not writing it.

Does everything boil down to paper culmination? Those who have completed all 20 questions, did they know right answers to all 20?

I could not attempt 25 marks In gs1, 25 in gs2, 25 in gs3, completed gs4 well. But I see that I even didn’t know answers to these 6 questions. So I had left them for last. But rest questions were attempted with quality. I assume even if I had attempted them, then would have got 1-1.5 marks each. Belong to EWS. Socio optional and essay were fine.

How should I interpret about my performance?

@pra7009055All the 2200-2300 students who qualify mains, do all of them complete paper? I feel max 2 questions left per paper should be ok, if others answers are written with quality.
